the position of Assistant Manager for the school I work at(lunchroom). The position would be almost what I am making at my current position of head cashier. I would have about 2 1/2 more hours to work each week. There will be two openings for Manager coming up within a few months to a little over a year.

I am not sure what to do. I guess I need some pixie dust to sleep with tonight. I have gotten used to the cashier position now and I have grown to have a really great relationship with the kids. I would lose that even though I would still "see" them.

I am proud that they still think I am the person to do the job but do I really want to stand on my feet all day in a hot kitchen again??

I am really torn. The money would be a lot better when I get to the manager position but this is a really OLD school and the equipment is awful. The high point is that they will build a new school but they keep pushing the date back from a couple of years to now 7 years away.

Any advice??I am going to sleep on it for a couple of days and see what my mind tells me.

just wanted to send some pixie dust your way
to help with your difficult decsion

 hope it works out the best for you

Sheila, I'm sending you some :wizard: and will keep you in my prayers. Listen to your heart.

Sheila,
Good luck with making the decision-it's not easy but after looking at the pros and cons I am sure you'll figure it out. Trust youself:teeth:

Adding to the PD being sent your way :wizard:

Do what's best for Sheila, not anyone else. Even if you decide not to take the position, it's such a nice morale booster just to be asked :)

Good luck, and keep us posted.

More PD on the way, Shelia!! :wizard: Congratulations on being offered the promotion for the second time! :D Those same great qualities that have made you such a big loser on WISH are making you a big winner at work!! :sunny:

No advice. How about good wishes and a {{{HUG}}} instead?

Good luck with this!

Well....after a sleepless night tossing and turning I told the interim director that I would take the position.

She still has to get all the "official" stuff done with the Board of Education and try to get me some more money than what the pay scales would have me at. She told me today it would probably be May when the transition would happen. I hope so because then I would have a few more weeks of doing what I do now. I will miss doing that because I had gotten in my own comfort zone and will miss the one on one interaction with the students.

I hope I am doing the right thing.

NOW..... to concentrate on getting to GOAL!!;)

:Pinkbounc :bounce: Congratulations, Shelia!! :Pinkbounc :bounce: You'll be a great manager!! They're very lucky to get you!! :D

Congratulations Sheila! It takes a lot to move out of the comfort zone into something new. Good for you! :hyper: :wave2:

Congrats, Sheila! Does that mean that you'll be making brownies for hundreds again? ;) You've come through some awesome changes. You're strong and can do this one, too!
