HI my wife & I will be visiting Paris(which is probably a few hours from London ) this Xmas .

Just wondering if anyone watched cabaret Moulin Rouge in Paris ? How's it ? We haven't decided to watch or not , it's not cheap you know.

Also does "boxing day" tradition apply to Paris ?

Thanks

Hi there!
Paris is less than 3 hours from London via the Eurostar train service. I can't tell you anything about Moulin Rouge, I'm afraid, but a girlfriend of mine used to be a dancer there and she has very fond memories of the place. I know it's expensive but I'd be inclined to try it... :dance3:

The French do not celebrate Boxing Day as a holiday - I think it's a Commonwealth thing. They tend to make more of Christmas Eve...

Have a wonderful trip! :thumbsup2

We sent some clients to Paris on the Orient Express, they also did a dinner cruise and the Moulin Rouge show. His coments were: The show was very good although he didn't realise that they would be topless. The food was average. They pack you in like sardines, but it's not too bad if you are near an aisle. All in all I think they prefered the Dinner river cruise to the Moulin Rouge.
I hope you have a nice time in Paris :goodvibes

We went to one of the evening shows of Moulin Rouge when we were in Paris in September. It was a birthday present from me to my mum, hence the reason for splashing out. For both of us it came to about 300 Euros. The food was decent enough and we had champagne with our meal. We were both alittle disappointed with the show though.

We've just had a weekend in Paris and saw the front of the Moulin Rouge but didn't go in. Be warned, it's in the Pigalle district of the city and isn't the nicest of places. We saw lots of sex shops, lap-dancing (and worse) bars and other things in shop windows to make your eyes pop out.

As for going into the Moulin Rouge to watch woman dancing ... I'd rather stick on a DVD of Flashdance and have a bag of popcorn. But that's just me. 300 Euros is waaaaaaaayyyyyyy to much to watch dancing girls. That's what the internet is for ;)

If you're interested, here are links to trip reports for the time we had in Paris:

Day 2

Day 4

I hope that you had a good a time as we did!
