Besides biting the bullet & pay more than double on ebay or printing up the phone number & address to every Toys R Us, Target & Walmart w/in a 50 mile radius of my home & calling them at the crack of dawn or store opening to see if they have them. Is there an easier way to find those Zhu Zhu hamster toys? :confused3 I welcome any & all suggestions or strategies TIA :hippie:

That's funny, I didn't even know what they were until my Mom told me about them. She apparently has been getting them for my kids for Xmas. The clerk at Toys R Us, said to call the night before about an hour before closing. They know if they will have them for opening the next day. Then she's been in line (bless her heart) about 1/2 before opening and she's gotten almost the whole set, plus multiple. Good Luck.

I called and asked my local Toys R Us when their next delivery was due, they don't know what is on it but at least you won't waste your time going there every day, mine had deliveries about 2x per week, I lucked out and got 4 hampsters, thats the most they would sell to each person for a day. I have never seen anything at walmart or Target. My mothers friend called walmart and someone there held them for her, when she went to the store she had to ask for that person, she had to be there by a certain time and they were never put out on the floor...

I just call the Walmarts and ask. Many people have talked getting there at opening, but I have had better luck finding pieces in the evening at about 9 pm.

Cool... I will try calling the night before instead of first thing in the AM. Thanks for your responses ;)

Personally, I just got all mine on Ebay. I don't have the time to be going to all the different stores and going late at night or at opening. For me, time is money. It was much easier just to get them on Ebay.

I was at my local TRU last week and asked about them and was told that they would not be on the shelves until Black Friday. I really don't want to face the Black Friday shopping this year but if I want to get DD the toy she really wants that I am going to have to stand in line. I almost don't want to do it because it may get a little crazy this year.

Do you have a TRU rewards card? They sent an e-mail out to members only late Friday night saying that the ZhuZhus would be in stock Saturday morning at 6am. You might try that and check your e-mail every night before you go to bed.

In my case, I'll need to pray that a set falls into my lap because I don't have the time to dedicate to this hunt. I'm seriously thanking God my girls' hearts aren't set on them. I'm not sure what I'd do. Like another poster said, I'd probably just get them on eBay, though that would chap my bum because I keep hearing horror stories about people running in to hoard them and brag about putting them on eBay while standing in the check-out line. I know, I know...it's captialism. Still, IMO, very uncool.

Also try Kmart...They had an abundance of them the one morning..Didn't buy any though since my 5 yr old didn't want them

I dont think they are available at KMart. This is from the zhu zhu site itself

Look for Zhu Zhu Pets™ Hamsters for sale right now at even more retailers, including: Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Amazon.com, Meijers, select Hallmark Gold Crown Stores, Shopko, Duck Wall, Fred Meyer, and more...

I think it's crazy all of the people that are doing this with a childs toy.I understand it being a hot item for Christmas but I think they were meant to be something affordable for all children. And here people are making 100.00 on 2 hamsters! And sadly the company and makers of them are not profiting off of this insanity at all.I wonder if they would have been so hot if they would have started off the bat charging 50.00 each for them.Probably not.
I love them..but I am not going to fight over them or wait in a crazy line for hours.I read online that on Black Friday at TRU they are handing out 100 tickets to the first people in line wanting them and this is all they are going to be selling for the day.I don't know how true it is but that was on a blog about Black Friday sales.

Good luck finding them at the 8.00 price!!

I have a friend that is having "Santa" leave a note that the new hamsters weren't born yet and he'll be delivering them as soon as they were. Granted, this girl is only 4 so she'll still buy it but my friends said she hasn't been able to find them but isn't going to get crazy about it. She said her daughter really wants them but it is still little enough to buy the excuse so she'll just wait until they are a dime a dozen after Christmas and get some then.
