I can tell you what I have found from the research I have done.
B&N has a "re-stocking" fee if you buy a Nook and dont like it.
Amazon has a 30 day "no questions asked" return policy.
TRUE
I picked 10 books that I recently purchsed for my Kindle and compared pricing from Amazon and Barnes & Noble. B&N was higher in all 10 instances...sometimes a couple of dollars higher.
True, although pricing is fluid. Who know's which way they will go.
B&N is touting that you can lend a book to a friend with a Nook. This can be done once per title. It's good for 14 days. You can not access the book while it is lent and not all books are "lendable".
True
B&N's Nook has a slot for an SD card. The Kindle holds 1500 books and you have access to Amazon's archive feature, making the Kindle limitless.
Nook has 2GB of internal storage (1500 books worth). The SD can add another 16 GB. The device will be long obsolete by the time you fill it
. However, the space could be useful if you want to carry your mp3 library. You can't do that on Kindle.
B&N is touting the touch screen and finger scroll. This means that your library is visible 4 books at a time and you flick to the next 4. Kindle lists your books at approximately 12 per page. You flip pages to look at your alpabetical listing. You'd have to decide wich is easier.
I believe there will be a sub folder system. Check the link below.
The nook does not allow you to download books wirelessly. The Kindle does. The Nook must be hooked to a computer to load books unless you are in a B&N store. You can download KIndle books from anywhere.
Not True. Nook has free 3G wireless via AT&T for buying books. No web browser.
These are some of the things I found.
All my reserach pointed me to the Kindle.
I would also check out the Sony Reader. There are two models out now. I have not done the level of research on these two as I have with the Nook.
Happy reading.
