OT- Anyone have a hotel recommendation for NYC?

We've decided to got to NYC for a weekend to do some Christmas shopping, take in the sights,etc. We'd like to just get a hotel somewhere in Manhattan but don't want to go broke by staying there. Anyone know a good hotel in Manhattan that isn't obscenely expensive?

Most centrally located Manhattan hotels are expensive.If you are planning on going anytime near Thanksgiving weekend it costs alot more, heck weekends cost more. We usually stay at the Westin in times square, because we got a special $150 night rate.But rack rate for that place is obscene.Try looking on Hotels.com

Try Hotel 41..it's located in Times Square and pretty reasonably priced ! Only "bad" thing is that the rooms are on the smaller side.

Check the NYC lodging specials on www.travelzoo.com.
There are some great deals on some of the Affinia properties now for Dec.

One thing I should add, always read the reviews on trip advisor before booking, especially for NYC.
The Affinia 50 is very highly regarded.
Also, check out www.radiocityapartments.com.....basic apartment like accomodations that are very clean and comfortable and steps from Rockefeller Ctr.

We recently had a week there and stayed at the Hilton Hampton Inn Times Square North. Got a good rate, well located close to buses and trains and there was a complementary breakfast every morning and tea / coffee / chocolate in the lobby all day. It was a small hotel which deserved its excellent reviews on trip advisor.

Doubletree Guest Suites in Times Square. Great size rooms and excellen location. Don't know about price since we don't pay for hotels (we use points).
