So we are going for almost 2 weeks in Dec and are thinking of taking our DS3 and DS6 to Sea World for the day. DS6 is a HUGE animal lover.

Anyone do this? We have NEVER left Disney property while staying there and not sure how to go about this?? :confused3

Any sugestions on what to do or not to do??

TIA

Can't help with the transportation issue, although seems like that's been covered.

SeaWorld is tons of fun, you will all enjoy it. If you have the time and work out the transpo try and do it. The kids can feed and pet the dolphins at certain times, the shows are breathtaking--so different from many many years ago. My kids love the penguin house. And there are a couple of big thrill rides now that are great!

As much as we love Disney, it is always good to take a break from the Mouse.

Enjoy!

When we went last year we rented a car so we could drive to Seaworld, Universal and IOA and are doing it when we go again this year. Seaworld is great, great fun. Hope you have a great time!

We stayed on property last year and left one day for Seaworld. We booked and paid for transportation with Mears before we left home. I think it was $14 per person round trip. Called the night before and told them what time we wanted to be picked up and then called from Seaworld to tell them what time to come back for us. They use a van so there may be other people in your van if thier resort is close by. It worked out very well. They are the same company who own some of the DME buses and more than a few of the various cab companies you see around Orlando.

We rented a car on our trip this past December. It was the first time we have had a car and it was nice. We went to SeaWorld one day and hit the Disney outlets another. It was also nice having a car since I was 6 months pregnant and didn't feel like doing the busses sometimes. It is very easy to negotiate on Disney property and SeaWorld is very easy to get to as well. It is only about a 15 minute drive. We were there all day and saw virtually everything since it wasn't very busy. Make sure you get there early and go to the Dolphin cove, that was the highlight of the morning. The dolphins would come right up to you. They were much less interested when we went back later in the day.

We did this on our last trip for the first time. We rented a car for the day at the dolphin, DH took a cab to the dolphin but you could take a bus from your resort to a park and then take another bus to the dolphin. My son loves aquariums but we were not all that impressed with Sea World. It was ridiculously crowded which made it difficult to enjoy. If you wanted to feed the dolphins or the rays you needed to wait in a HUGE line to buy food then fight your way in to a tank. We saw some shows which were nice I just didn't feel like I got enough for my $. The food and drink costs are actually higher at Sea World than at Disney too. I guess I'm glad we did it once. I just don't know that I would do it again.
