I have been collecting off and on for years, I do have the airmiles American Express but I rarely use a credit card. I got hooked a few weeks a go when A&P had a mega-bonus campaign going and I collect about 150 one week alone. Now I am looking everywhere to see if I can collect at certain stores etc. I have about 1100 in total and that is the most I have ever had(I bought a camera once a few years ago plus little certificates here and there)I am aiming for Disney passes for at least two of us but it has almost become an obsession! PLEASE, tell me how you get all your points! Any hints or tips are appreciated-thanks guys!:yay:

We buy all of our gas at Shell, buy all our liquor at the LCBO (like we have a choice  ). We also bank with BMO. They can add up pretty quick when you use your airmiles card + either American Express or Mastercard.

lots of luck

Lawtons Drug Store usually has tons of bonus airmiles. A little while ago for example they had buy any Holista brand vitamin & get 100 airmiles. I stocked up on the vitamin C for like $3.99 and got a bunch of airmiles. :cool1:

It used to be super easy for us eons ago when we lived in London...we were a few blocks away from a 24hr A&P, so I used to rack up a ton of points and bonus points. Now though we're in the SW end of Kitchener...no A&P, Shell is out of the way for gas, and I'm preggo, so no LCBO for me for at least a few more months!! What we will probably keep doing is trading our HBC points for Airmiles and maybe by the time this baby is 3 and needs his own ticket to WDW we'll have enough points to get it through Airmiles.

I'm open to more suggestions though!!

Using your Amex card had the participating stores and get double the miles (double dipping).

I transfer my zellers points to airmiles. Get all my sons medication with zellers and get around 50 airmiles each month. Sobey's and Jean Coteau offers airmiles too. I belong to BMO too

OMG!I didnt know you could transfer Zellers (HBC) points to airmiles. I never collect HBC because you need a gazillion to get a pencil (just a wee bit of sarcasm there, eh?) but I will now. Actually, I think my DH does, ohhh gotta go check his wallet-Thanks so far guys keep the ideas coming!:woohoo: :cheer2:

Safeway Bonus Coupons. A Safeway store in Winnipeg is presently having a weekly deal of 250 airmiles for every $100 you spend. So 500 airmiles a week for a $200 shop. Plus last week I got an exta 50 airmiles for buying 5 Safeway brand products. 20 airmiles for two bags of cookies, etc. I put it all on my WestJet Mastercard which gives me 1 airmile for every 15 airmiles.

Last week I spent $107 at Safeway and figured I earn about 400 airmiles and a trip to Florida on West Jet is only 1400 airmiles.

I can usually save enought airmiles for 4 flights, 4 Disney passes and 4 seaworld passes in 1-2 yrs using Safeway, and WestJet Mastercard. Having Zellers go to Airmiles doesn't help much but I did have a coupon spend $40 at Zellers get 25,000 HBC reward points I'm not sure what that will convert to for airmiles probably like 2 airmiles.:rotfl2:

Definitely Safeway bonus offers and putting everything on WestJet Mastercard are how we add up the points so quickly. Kim

It is really hard to save those suckers! I've been saving for about 4 years and am sitting at 1300. I'm hoping that by next year at this time I can redeem for a child ticket and an adult ticket.

I have an Amex card that I earn Airmiles on, any big purchases I put on there. I also transfer my HBC points over to airmiles. I've also been taking advantage of the Dominion bonus points, I've signed up for their emails so I know when they are having them. I also take advantage of their bonus email coupons.

Good luck, I hope to read more ideas to earn more as well.

If you have good control, purchase everything that is possible on an airmiles credit card. This includes dentist bills, even if you have a dental plan, pay with the card and get your money back later. Again, This also applies for your prescription drugs. Pay for them and then get reimbursed from your insurance plan. House and Car Insurance are also an option. Gas at shell (triple air miles), Home renovations (Bonus coupons from Rona and Tim-Br Mart) etc etc etc. Plus, the Mosiac/West Jet CC allows you to fly anywhere in North America for 1600 air miles. I usually gather 1500 - 2000 airmiles a year

Again, only if you have good control over your spending...you can also arrange to pay your cell phone bills and bell using your air miles cc. People who use their cc for business expenses probably get the most air miles. I wish I could pay the hydro and gas bills this way - it's money I'm already spending, why not rack up the air miles at the same time?
Also if you shop online for things :surfweb: there are lots of sites available through the airmiles shops and you get bonus offers (sometimes triple miles, or free shipping). I like Land's End, LL Bean, Bare Necessities. disneyshopping.com is also on there. You just sign into the airmiles shops site first, then use their link to visit the site(s) you want to shop.
Make sure you check the airmiles.ca website regularly for the offers on there - sign up for emails from them. You might get some bonus airmiles just for signing up.
