OT - Airfare Pittsburgh to Phoenix in July

Anybody get decent airfare out of Pgh to Phoenix? Right now I'm looking at $350 roundtrip. Yikes!

It's probably just too early to be looking. I always recommend checking Priceline (their regular site and not the name-your-own-price part). They often have some really good deals.

I don't understand what so expensive? $350 to fly across the country is pretty cheap. The average fare on Pittsburgh-Phoenix $327.04, so its right around where it should be.

Pretty expensive, considering I can get there in May on a non-stop flight for about $230. When you are flying with a family, the savings is significant

I just think it's too early to book anything.

Does it have to be Pittsburgh? I live here, but hardly ever fly out of here -- the price is generally higher than elsewhere. I'd try Cleveland or even Akron/Canton.

Also, use Expedia, Travelocity, etc., and when you find an okay price, go to the airline's site and check their price for that flight number -- sometimes they are the cheapest.

Also, be sure to add in the additional costs, like the charges for baggage.
