OT: Air cleaners for KIds Allergies???

HI everyone,
My son has never been tested for allergies but I know that he has them. DH and I are allergic to Dust mites. Air cleaners are not needed for dust mites but I was wondering about my son. He seems to get nasal drainage when the furnace goes on. So it is possible that he has another type of allergy the is airborne. I would like to purchase portable air cleaner (not on furnace) but I don't know what kind to get. Can anyone help??

(by the way, we can't use decongestants or allergy medicine with my son...he is that kid that gets the overexcited nervous system and has a terrible time sleeping. )

We have a Nikken that my mom gave us. I don't know what it's called or the benefits or features since we didn't go shopping for it ourselves, but Nikken stuff is supposed to be really good.
