OT - 2nd Birthday Party HELP!!!

DS will turn 2 one week after we return home (and we leave in 6 days ). I have really neglected planning his party because of the trip .

We will just be inviting friends over to grill out in the backyard and have cake. I need to make a trip to the factory card outlet, but I know that the them will be Disney (probably Nemo unless they have Mickey).

The problem is, we will have probably 4-5 children between the ages of 11 months-4. I have NO idea what to do with/for them. Last year we didnt do any 'games' and I felt bad. Does anyone have any activity ideas that could entertain those ages? I am not thinking anything too structured, just something 'fun' to do. I thought about decorating (and eating) cupcakes with frosting?

Does anyone have any other ideas?

Two year olds do not want or need a lot of structure. They would be happy with a supply of your sons outdoor toys to play with. If your location and weather allow, a shallow pool or sprinker might be fun. Musical intruments are fun for toddlers. Someone to play a guitar and sing with them could be fun. If you want to do a group activitiy with toddlers it has to be very simple. Ring a round a rossie, maybe duck duck goose but do not expect them to to it "right". Avoid clowns etc as many kids are scared of them.Decorating cookies could be a great fun activie. Just expect a huge mess and be sure to do it after the meal. We did DS 2nd birthday at the park and they just played at the playground.

I usually print out coloring pages related to the party theme and place them and some crayons at each child's seat. I agree that just playing outside is enough for most small children. Also, bubbles or sidewalk chalk would probably keep them entertained.

Thanks! I know that structure would not work for that variety of ages, I just want to make sure that they have something 'fun' and different available. They can play with ds's toys anyday, I want his birthday to be special.
