Osbourne Lights

Would this plan work for the first week of December- anything you would switch around?

4:30pm Dinner: Minnie's Holiday Dine with fantasmic pass
6:15-7:30: Osborne Lights
7:30- head to Fantasmic
8:30 Fantasmic

Able to see the lights after if the park is listed as closing at 8pm?

Is it worth switching around plans to see the lights turned on or is it just as good of an experience to wander around afterward?

when my ta told me about them, i thought it was something to do with ozzy osbourne and HIS family, i was like Wth???). we went after fantasmic so had no idea what time it had started.
Every year that I go there with my brother he asks if it's to do with ozzy!

A. Looks good to me.
B. Unknown.

In my opinion, I'd not sweat trying to see them first turned on.
That will (basically) be repeated over-and-over during the evening as the "dancing" interludes happen (about every 15 minutes.)

Also, the sky will be darker later in the evening, which enhances the experience.

Thanks, Robo! Glad to know we'll be able to enjoy what I imagine will be our much needed break without stressing about getting back to the park earlier!

The O-Lights have been rumored to "end after this year" for many years, now.
However, so far, they have come back every year.

If the rumored removal of the "Streets of America" (the O-Lights location) takes place, Disney will likely find a new home for the Lights.
The "Streets of America" are actually the second home of the O-Lights in DHS.
The original spot was in the (now long gone) "suburban neighborhood" section of the Back Lot Tour (also now gone.)

That's good information. It will be interesting to see where they appear next. I doubt I will ever get down there during Christmas as long as I'm teaching in my current location. But I would like to see this someday. Have the Lights been there since the park opened? Or is this a more recent addition?

Nope.
They were acquired from the Osborne family in 1995, about six years after DHS first opened (in 1989.)

It's a spectacular show and for us, we usually spend 45 to 60 minutes viewing. i remember that they would give out 3d glasses. So each light would have angel wings or appear as snowflakes. So really special effect glasses rather than 3d.

I remember the "angel vision" glasses! That was when the lights were on "residential street." The Golden Girls' house, the Empty Nest house. I miss all that stuff.

I wish they still gave out the glasses. Or that I still had mine.
