We will be staying at the Poly 11-28-04 thru 12-05-04. I would like some information on the Osborne Lights. Where are they and what are they? Is it something you see in 5 minutes or is it an hour to see it all. Can they be see from the Poly?

It is just sooo beautiful! It is in the back of MGM and I would plan on spending about an hour to stroll thru and see everything. I don't know if you can see it from the Poly but even if you could, you wouldn't see the detail. It is all Christmas lights set up in different designs on houses, lawns etc.

Absolutely a must see.

This year the Osborne lights start on 11/24 and will be different than years past. Since the homes on the backlot no longer exist because of a new attraction being built...we are guessing the lights will be done up all around new york street. There are millions of lights, and if you love the holidays and christmas lights this is a must see. They turn the lights on at dusk each night, and then you stroll through at your leisure. Will probably take you more than 5 minutes, maybe 30..just depends on how much time you spend looking at each. Lots to see!

Enjoy!

I plan to see them this year also for the first time. I am 'hoping' we can go through and see them once it gets dark and then head over to MK to end our day. I am not sure what time things light up, but in December it does get dark rather early, so maybe around 6-7:00 pm.

How late does MGM stay open during the time the Osborne lights are on display? We will be in WDW 12/3-12/6:bounce:

They haven't released Dec dates yet, I believe.

I saw the lights a couple of years ago, when it was in the backlot area, and it is truly a sight to behold! Be sure and snag a pair of the 3D glasses, if they offer them, creates a whole new sensation!

We had a blast strolling amongst the crowds, munching on cinnamon cashews, and enjoying the lights... there's no way we could have walked the whole thing in 5 min last time, due to crowds and distance, but I'm not sure how expansive it will be now that it's moved.

It's just a relaxing time to view Christmas lights, much like you would if walking through them back at home...

Has to be a different year even for those of us that have seen the lights many times since they are redone the back lights. something new at last.

Our family can't wait to see the Osborne lights. Had to explain to my DD15 that it was not Ozzy Osborne's lights LOL! We will be there for Thanksgiving so we will catch it just lit.

Me too! We are making a special effort to go the day before our cruise just so we can be there to see these lights. We went to WDW for our First Christmas last year and they didn't have the lights, so this will be our first time seeing them.

Don't forget, you have to be there to see the effect of the special glasses on the lights! ::yes::

I am really looking forward to seeing the Osborne lights too :Pinkbounc last year was our 1st visit during dec so we missed them. I will be there the 1st week in dec, last year mgm was only open until 7:00. if dusk is around 6:00 does this mean there is only about an hour for viewing? i would imagine it would be pretty packed? did anyone find it less busy on certain nights? no way am I going to miss them:D but i would like to enjoy them as much as possible, and make sure I plan my meals well ahead or for after 7:00.
thanks
