I was thinking of purchasing orthaheel flip flops for my August trip and was looking for feedback. Anyone worn these in the parks? I have done my last 3 trips in the crocsband flip and they have been good, but he orthaheels look really comfy. I did buy a new pair of the crocsband flips, but was thinking of taking both. Also if you do have these, how is the sizing? I don't want to order the wrong size. TIA!

I have the Orthaheal Wave flip flop, clog and a sandal as well now.

I had full ankle reconstruction in Sept '09. They cleaned up the tendon above my arch and broke my heal to widen it. Orthaheals made it possible for me to walk during my recovery.

The built in arch is wonderful. I had 2 screws in the back of my heel to heal the bone they broke, the back became (and still is most of the time) super sensitive so it hurt to wear shoes with a back, so I couldn't wear my custom fit orthotics. The orthaheal orthotic built in did the trick. Plus my nerves were so sensitive for over a year I couldn't walk with out a shoe on, I even showered in those things.

Plus, they hold up. I still wear that original wave I bought in April '10 and wore daily all the way until i bought their clog in October and used to shower until Dec '10. Plus as my slippers. They are bit scuffed, but the support is as good as day one.

Now I wear the sandal version daily since it's a bit nicer for work. I've found out I have new tendonitis in the back of my heal which is why it hurts to wear closed back shoes. We are working on this with stretching etc to avoid more surgery, but I know this brand will be in my future for a long time.

Forgot to add, I can't really help with the sizing as my foot is still swollen.

Before my surgery I usually wore a 10 or 10.5 in most shoes. My orthaheals are 11's.

They run long on purpose so that there's room in front of your toes so you don't slide over the front and so that the back can form a curve around your heal. The 11 works for me, but the front is probably longer than necessary, but it doesn't bother me any, I don't trip over them or anything.

Foot Solutions shoe stores carry them, so you can go in and try them on there before ordering.

Hi,
I purcharsed a pair of Orthoheel flip flops for my August trip for changes and for any water rides. I have had achilles tendonitis since October and I will say they take a bit to break in for me anyway. I inititally didn't like the feel of the thong and footbed because they are plastic, but I have worn them two days in a row (had them about a month) and they are working well for me. I don't know how they would do on a whole day at disney walking but so far with a little breaking in they have made my feet feel so much better overall.

I have plantar fasciitis and Orthoheels were recommended by my doctor. Apparently they were designed by a podiatrist for plantar fasciitis. I have both the Wave and Tide styles. They feel the same, the only difference I've noticed is that the Tides have the stripe on them. For some reason I usually wind up in the Tides more than the Waves though. They definitely made my heel/arch feel better, but take a little getting used to. I love them now, but when wet the little nubs on the bottom may get a little irritating (then again I have very sensitive, ticklish feet:rotfl:). The arches are also a little high, which is great if you have high arches like I do, but they could irritate if you have flat feet. I ordered mine from Foot Smart. Go to their site and you can read the reviews. They are among my favorite flip flops. I usually carry the Tides, a pair of Sketcher Tone Ups, and a pair of OluKai Ohana's to WDW. I do prefer the OluKai Ohanas and Sketcher Tone Ups, just a tad more than the Orthoheels, but like all three. The OluKai and Tone Ups are comfortable right out of the box. However, I wouldn't take the Orthoheels to WDW without breaking them in well.

To me they fit true to size. My feet have a tendency to swell when I'm at WDW. I've never had a problem with the Orthoheels getting too tight though.

Here they are on Foot Smart. Read the reviews:

Off Topic: Another option for you might Montrail Molokinis. As soon as you get them, you put them in a warm oven, bake them for a few minutes, then immediately wear them for a while. They form perfectly to your feet. I have a couple pairs of them too and love them. Read the reviews on Zappos:
