Our family is planning a trip to Orlando in April with our 2 teenager daughters. We will only be there for 4 days so we need to choose what we are going to do carefully. What do teens enjoy doing in Orlando or Disney?

I just asked my 2 teens (DS17 & DD15) and they said if they could only do 3 things - Epcot, Cirque de Soleil & DisneyQuest.

My DD loves animals so we had to stay at the AKL. Boma is a favorite resteraunt to eat with my teens. Epcot, MK are great too!

They like the character breakfasts still, enjoy the "thriller" rides at the parks (especially at night), and downtown disney to people watch and shop.

What is DisneyQuest? Also, my kids think Epcot would be boring. What do yours like about Epcot?

DisneyQuest is basically a 5 story arcade at DTD. Each floor has a theme and I've spent many hours playing on the 'classic' games level. There are simulators, 3D rides and even a buzz lightyear Astroblaster where you drive a car and shoot others with giant balls that you pick up. My kids love to design their own rollercoaster and then ride it in the simulator. We all love to do the pirate adventure where the whole family can take on a fleet of sheets. The Aladdin virtual reality simulator makes me a bit sick and you can get a bit wet in the white water rafting adventure. There is too much to explain. It's a must for my teens and the families we travel with.

My kids hated Epcot when they were little but the last time we were there they loved it. Go to Innoventions and let the try a Segway, Club Cool will let them try Coke products from around the world - some good and some disgusting - and they spent hours in the Japanese pavillion. We had noodles at the take out there. My kids are into Anime & Japanese culture so they spent a couple of hours in the shops. Soarin' was my daughters favorite ride but my son loves Mission Space. There is so much to see and taste in the little shops. The street performers will interact with you too. One had my son helping him juggle and Miyuki made a panda out of candy for my daughter.

They loved MK when they were little and we will do it again but this was a more grown up visit and they can't stop talking about it. We weren't rushing from one ride to another trying to get it all done.

i think it really depends on what the girls are interested in. I am 15 and my personal favorite is Epcot World Showcase but my best friend says Disney Studios is her favorite. I suggest looking at the different parks on Disney's site http://home.disney.go.com/parks/. they list the attractions, restaurants and shops in each park area. Have the girls get into it and let them pick what they want to do.

The first time I went to Disney World I was 17. I went with my mom for 4 days. We did the "normal" thing and went to the four theme parks. There is plenty for teens to do at the parks that will keep them interested. My mom and I had a wonderful time running around and going on all the attractions. Personally I don't think you need to tailor your trip to "teens." Maybe you just don't go on Barnstormer and you skip the Kidcot stations (though even I love those lol). There is so much to do that I think by going to the four main parks you won't run out of things to stay interested!!!

I am 17, and quite frankly, I love pretty much everything Disney has to offer. I love Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, and the Haunted Mansion more than the younger kids, and I have a blast on Rockin' Roller Coaster, too. My favorite, though, is Epcot. I love the World Showcase; I could spend all day there just roaming throughout the pavilions. Test Track and Soarin' help the appeal of the park, too. ;) It shouldn't be all that hard to keep them entertained. :goodvibes

Well, others have chimed in on Disney parks, and I agree with pretty much everything they say. I would also recommend Islands of Adventure, part of the Universal Resort. Last time my family went, I was 17, and my brothers were 13 and 10. The emphasis here is on thrill rides, so if that's something your family's into, I would definitely recommend a stop by IoA.

I would also recommend doing Disney last on your trip. In our experience, Universal and SeaWorld are a bit of a letdown after you've been to Disney World. They're definitely fun parks, but they just don't have the same magic atmosphere that Disney does.

Most of all, just remember to have fun and embrace the kid inside, no matter what your physical age!
