UPDATE: Post #16

I feel like this is a silly question to be asking on the DIS, but what can I say, I need help. :) I will be in Orlando for a week of meetings. At the tail end I have one day off and I'd love to go to a theme park to decompress after long days of seminars. Should I go to Disney World or Universal? And which of the parks inside of Disney or Universal should I go to?

Here are the contingents:
I will be going alone.
I will only be buying a single park pass.
I don't like roller coasters.
I love theater/performance/behind the scenes stuff.
I've visited Disneyland many 'a time.
I will be going on a Sunday and will be able to stay park open to close.

Comments? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance!!

I think you should look into Hollywood Studios. I couldn't spend a whole day in EPCOT, but a lot of people can.

To do Epcot really properly takes two days. I would definitely suggest Epcot, especially for a non-thrill-rider.

Epcot. I have been to all the parks at one time or another by myself. I find Epcot by far to be the best solo park.

Yep. I was going to say Epcot before I ever saw anyone else's reply. I'm excited for you that you get to experience it for the very first time :).

First place I thought of was Epcot. So much you can do and just take your time doing it. It's a great place to just wander around.

I vote EPCOT or Hollywood Studios!

Have fun!

Thank you for all of your suggestions!

I should have mentioned that I have a rebellious streak that pops up at the most benign times. And this is one of those times. The majority of you said Epcot.... so I went to Disney Hollywood Studios. And boy am I glad! I don't think you could spend a whole day there if you do the "regular" attraction... BUT first thing into the park I found myself auditioning for the American Idol Experience. I wanted to be able to say I did it.... well guess what: I did round 1, made it to round 2 to sing for a producer, and then found myself getting hair and make up done so I could go on stage for round 3. :) I didn't win my show, but I sure had a great time! (And it was kind of a comfort that the guy who bumped me out ended up winning it all.) I felt like a rock star getting pampered and singing on stage for a live audience!

My Idol experience was done by 1:00 so I spent the rest of the day checking out the other attractions. I loved The Great Movie Ride and the Drawing Classes. (Did both of those twice.) And all of the CM's were super nice when they saw my "1st Visit" button and Idol lanyard. I got an insiders tip to get a Fast Pass for Toy Story, and I'm glad I did, I loved it! (But would have never stood in line for 80 minutes by myself.) All in all it was a great day.

Thank you guys for your suggestions, and thank you Disney for the experience of a life time!!
