We are planning for 2 shopping days in November. One day we will be going to the Florida Mall to spend the day there. I have found a shopping tour online, which sounds pretty interesting. It is a 9 1/2 hour tour, which stops at Millenia Mall (lunch voucher included), World of Denim, Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlet Stores, and Beltz Factory Outlet mall. We will spend approximately 2 - 2 1/2 hours at each place (besides World of Denim which is a 30-45minute stop).

Since I have never been to any of these places, I am wondering if this tour is worth a try. Are these outlet malls worth a visit?

My other option would be getting a cab and spending the day at Super Walmart, Super Target or another mall/outlet mall.

Any suggestions?

it depends what youre looking for..
the Lake Buena Vista Outlet is ok.. some quite good shops there.. but its not a "fun" place to shop. its hot and rather spaced out..

Mall at Millenia.. you couldnt even scratch the surface in two and half hours!! I could spend that in Macys alone!

World of Denim.. might be fun if you want to get a lot of Jeans stuff.. but its just one relatively small shop... (well comparitively small shop!)

Belz can be pretty good.. but most of the outlet places have the same shops.

Of the two, personally I would get a cab and spend half a day at Mall of Millenia and the other at Belz or Premium Outlets. Having said that.. youre already spending a day at Florida Mall.. maybe do that OR Millenia (millenia is newer and swisher!) and go to the outlets instead. Of the three outlets (BV, Premium and Belz) BV is the one I like the least...

Just some observations on the tour.

Mall at Millenia - well worth the time. Make sure your lunch voucher includes the Italian restaurant Brio. Avoid the temptation to go to the way overhyped Cheesecake Factory.

World of Denim & Belz - mostly a waste of time. The only reason your bus is stopping at these two is because they're being paid to do so. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Premium Outlet at LBV - this is where you'll probably spend your money. As well as Florida Mall.

A full day at Target or Walmart? yucch.

But hey, you sound like a true Power Shopper.

Otter49 - I had to laugh at your "true power shopper" comment. Thanks for your reply! Actually, we live in the Bahamas where we don't have any Targets, Walmarts, great malls etc. so when we go on vacation, we also have to go on our yearly "shopping spree"! That is why we go to Walmart, Kmart, Target etc. on most of our trips since these stores have a huge variety of stuff that we need/want. I know this shopping tour would enable us to go to a a variety of places, but I'm mostly worried about the time constraint and also if these places are even worth a visit, so your comments really helped a lot.

Thanks!!!

It depends on what you are after.

Premium outlets are great. However, they are not cheap, just reduced from the original costs. The NIKE, Estee Lauder and RAlph Lauren are great.

I like the Belz Outlets. They have two Disney Outlets and are fun to look for collectibles and golf shirts. Also, great prices on kiddie things. They have a Jockey store, Liz Claiborne, Sketchers and a bunch more. You can find their stores on-line.

If you are looking for Macy's, Nordstrom, Abercrombie - then head to the Millinia Mall. You maybe able to do both in one day.

I have Target and Walmart near me and don't go to them unless I have to. I prefer outlets to Target and Walmart.

how much is the tour?

the only store we go to at LBV is the Old Navy outlet. there is a super wal-mart right across the street. the premium outlets are just a few minutes away. florida mall, millenia, and the belz's are grouped more towards each other. you might be able to do it on your own, no tour required.

You might want to check if there is a car rental place that will bring you the car or pick you up. It might even be cheaper to rent a car for the day vs. taking the tour.
