We had a phonecall and email off the Virgin Rep in Orlando offering places to go and watch Orlando Magic Basketball Team over the Christmas period. Cost is $89 per person including transport.

Has anyone else been, how was it, do you think its worth the cost? :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Yes I have been, it was fantastic and I would highly recommend it.

Great arena, good view wherever you sit - although nearer the front is better.

While not wishing to contradict a fellow Lancastrian, I have a slightly different perspective on Orlando Magic.

As a one-off experience, it was OK, but we found it got a little tedious after a while. They play only for very short periods of time and then have a long break - so the game goes on for what seemed like hours and hours.

DH & DS appreciated the cheerleaders though! :cheer2: :cheer2:

And the Magic's mascot was a lunatic! :Pinkbounc

We couldn't get over the choice of fast foods available in the TD Waterhouse Center - a bit different to the pies and pasties at our football grounds! And the flooring in the center was so 'anti-slip' that your feet stuck to it!

Finally, I think that Virgin are possibly over-charging. You can get tickets via Ticketmaster online that you can print off yourself or collect from the ticket office on arrival. Prices can range from $10 upwards. I think you can even check out the view you would get from your seat.

Most American sports are long events, they are a day out as well as a sporting experience. For me that was part of the appeal and I lapped it all up.
