Hi
I am new on here. We are a family of 3 (hubby, me and 14 yr old son) we are going to Orlando first two weeks in June and wondered what to expect weather wise, crowds wise etc. We have been before but it was 2000 so I expect a lot has changed since then!!

We are going to Discovery Cove, but hubby doesnt want to do dolphin swim so just me and son for that!!

Any tips or advice on anything would be welcome. Thanks

Hello there. Welcome to the DIS! You'll find everyone on here is very helpful. We are also a family of 3 (hubby, me and 17 year old son). We go for our 5th time in a little over 3 weeks.

I highly recommend a book to help you with your planning. It's called a Brit's Guide to Orlando and Walt Disney World 2006 by Simon Veness (who is a regular on these boards too!) and there are also some really useful websites, like

www.allearsnet.com
www.mousesavers.com
www.wdwinfo.com

The following site also says how busy each day will be and which parks are best (or best avoided) each day.

Happy planning!

Julie

Welcome to the DIS

Have a check on the holiday chart on the Community Board to see who is going the same time as you (link in my signature) :)

There are lots of new rides and shows since 2000, Mission Space, Soarin, Expedition Everest, Stitch, Mickey's Philharmagic and so on :)

Where are you staying??

Please do join us on the Community Board - there is a getting to know you thread you can add to :)

Thanks for the help I will go and see if anyone is going around the same time as us. I will check out those websites too!
We are staying in Quality Inn Plaza on Int Drive we stayed there last time and found it was in a fairly decent location for us to get around from. We are not driving but I might give it a go another time I dont think I am a very confident driver at home never mind in the US with their huge roads!!

You will have a great time at DC - we did it 2 years ago and had the most fantastic day....weather was perfect, the swim was very touching (expect a few tears!) and the food was the best we had all holiday. Only got 8 weeks to go and still trying to save that extra £500 to do it again this year :thumbsup2

Welcome to the Dis, sunshine2blue :) :)

My wife and I just booked 2 weeks at Pop for 14th - 28th June. Normal until you realise we were just at Disney in December (2 weeks between Poly and GF:LC). Love it too much LOL. Dinning plan is a must if you can afford it - the food is fantastic and you will save lots.

Enjoy !

Colin
