Hi! Me and my dad are going to Orlando in July 2022 for 2 weeks and I was wondering if the plan below is any good? It’s been 6 years since we last came to Disney and it seems like everything has changed so much. We have park hopper tickets and Genie+. We are mostly just interested in doing the rides. The plan so far is:
2 days Magic Kingdom
2 days Hollywood Studios
1 day animal kingdom
1 day shopping and AK half day
1 day Epcot
1 day Busch gardens
4 days universal studios and IOA
1 free day, we haven’t decided which park to do yet.
Do you think this an ok plan for the number of days in each park? Thank you so much for any help in advance!

Seems like a very reasonable start to your planning! Just wondering if perhaps in July when it's 95 degrees if you might not like to think about some pool time or even a water park - but those are things you can decide later!! I like the 2 days at MK, HS, Uni, IOA, 1.5 at AK and 1 at EP - that's a breakdown we would look to do. Have a great trip!

I don't know that AK needs a day and a half. We usually have ridden everything and shopped in 3/4 of one day. Heck a couple of weeks ago, when I went with my sister, we did every single ride except the one dinoland one by 11 am. I'd use that as DS/rest day. IMO HS isn't 2 full days either. With hoppers maybe do 1/2 days at those 2 parks. Like AK in the morning to hit FOP 1st thing then hop to HS and see GE at night. Then another day HS in the morning to hit ROTR 1st thing then hop to AK to see AK at night. I'd do that with MK and Epcot too honestly. That way you can use the early entry (if staying onsite) to get some things done at both parks and also see fireworks at both parks and get a bit of a mix in there. Or at least that's what I'd dream of doing if I had that long at Disney without my kids lol.

Universal, where are you staying? Will you have the express pass?

There's always conversation about AK - is it a 2-day park, is it a 1/2-day park? I've come to the conclusion that it depends on what you enjoy there. If the goal is to ride the main attractions and get out, then it might be just a 1/2-day to 3/4-day park. For us, it's a 2-day park, because we casually stroll around the animals, the gorilla trail, the tiger trail, Discover Island, Rafiki's area, all the shows - it's relaxing and something we now enjoy doing. Of all the WDW parks, it's probably the one with the most flexibility for how people want to enjoy it. WIth a 2-week trip, I'm hoping they're having a more relaxed approach!

I would cut one day at Universal and remove the rest day and have a second day at Epcot and a day for SW.

Looks great! I would drop one day at universal and add another pool or rest day so it’s one rest day per week.
