We have a group going in June with lots of kids ranging 3 - 13. Looking for recommendations for our days outside the theme parks. We did Rain Forest Cafe last time. Any dinner shows or interactive, theme(ish) restaurants your kids have loved??
It might be a theme the 13 year old is looking for. But having been to both, I don't get the appeal of Twin Peaks over the more famous Florida born sibling. I've found both the food and the views superior at the Florida based chain. My first thought from the title was Twin Peaks, which has excellent food but is definitely not the theme you're going for....
I dont know the situation now with the restaurant but we've eaten and the Bull & Bear before and it was heavenly. We have a group going in June with lots of kids ranging 3 - 13. I'm with you. I think the food at Twin Peaks is far superior to other restaurants with similar theming. Even the wings, which the vibrant orange restaurant is known for.Really?! The Mac & cheese at Twin Peaks is literally the best I've ever had! Their other food was also well above average. Plus the lodge aesthetic is more appealing than vibrant orange. The chicken sandwich from "elsewhere" was fine, but nothing I'd return for (indeed, I have never been back).
I'm curious to try it out on my next trip downMillers Ale House is a favorite of ours every time we go to Florida.
If you are looking to stay in the Disney bubble as you did last time with Rain Forest Cafe I'd suggest Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Go a little early and let the kids enjoy the playground and campground theme before the meal while the parents have a drink from Crockett's Tavern. Outside the bubble going to a hotel like the Gaylord Palms for dinner would be fun for the kids as my kids love to explore that resort. As a Florida local I would never go out of my way to go to an Ale House or Twin Peaks as some others have suggested while on vacation. We have a group going in June with lots of kids ranging 3 - 13. Well, it's special to me! Also, it's close to DS, so handy! As a local to florida I do enjoy ale house. A couple times a year for family birthday parties we actually order a whole captain jacks buried treasure ice cream cake to go. Its a good spot for watching a game with better than average sports bar food. I have literally been 100+ times probably over the years but that's not to say I'd recommend it to people enjoying their vacation in and around Orlando as you can find a version of an ale house type establishment in most major cities around the country. Is there something special about the Ale House in Orlando? I've seen it recommended before, but I've been to the one that used to be in the Boston area, and one in the Columbus, OH, area, and to call both experiences "mediocre" would be kind.
