Looking for some advice regarding any cabins (particularly log cabins) rentals in the Disney/Orlando area. We're going down to Orlando the end of this month, and previously this summer stayed in a great log cabin in TN. Anyone have any ideas of some reputable rentals? Even just experiences with house rentals would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Seeing as how it is not the Appalachians, there aren't very many log cabins in Orlando. The cabins at Fort Wilderness are probably the closest you will find.

Lots of experiences renting private homes; a few searches here will get you started. The most common communities people rent in include Windsor Hills, Windsor Palms, Emerald Island, and Formosa Gardens.

Thanks! I thought it was a long shot for a log cabin, but figured I'd inquire. I've stayed at the FW cabins before, and was looking for something a bit more upscale. Thanks for the recommendations regarding the off-site homes.

When researching for our trip last march I found if you look at some of the rv places in the area they have cabins/cottages. Not really the log cabin type but some were pretty nice. We were a group of 10 so I ended up with a pool home rental from Lowery vacation homes. They were great to work with, and reasonable price. The KOA(I think it's in Kissimee) has cabins also, they are more log cabin type, but very basic. I stayed in one of them in San Diego and really enjoyed it, but it was just me. I don't think you will find the rustic type log cabins anywhere in the Orlando area.

Does Disney still have the treehouses? That might be comparable.

This is a campground with cottage rentals not a hotel. Perhaps they stayed at another place?

Hotel, Resort, same same to me. The website they call themselves a resort. It is the same place. I just showed my husband the website to confirm. He laughed and says the pictures on the website must be really old caused he doesn't feel it looks that nice now.
