When flying Southwest, how far ahead of your flight time do you need to be at the Orlando airport?

We left WDW at 1pm for a 3:40pm flight. I didn't pay attention to the time when we arrived at MCO, probably about 1:30pm. We dropped off our rental car, then to the SW kiosk to print our boarding passes. We got to the gate, had a sandwich and then noticed we had an hour before take off. S

If you do ME they take you there 2 hours before. Most of my trips were walk up to SWA...last time it was a Zoo. I went outside and did the curb-side check in to save time and we did not have any to spare.

These days give yourself 2 hours.

It is actually approx 3hrs before your departure time for ME. We had an 11:05am flight and the bus was due to leave at 8:15am but didn't acually leave the resort till 8:30am. Southwest checkin was a zoo(Mon Mar 19th) and security check point was busy too. That being said, we got to the airport just after 9am, checked in ,went through security and still had lots of time to sit by the gate. And that's with a 2yo in tow.

Tip: if you're staying at a Resort, you can get them to print your online boarding passes for your outbound flight. Only down side is if you have an 11am flight you'll have to be at the resort till 11am the day before(24hr rule). Those A passes are golden although for this one we didn't need it. Tugging a 2yo around does have some nice perks:rotfl:

Other option is to go to guest relations at any park and they will let you sit at a computer and print off your boarding passes. This way you don't waste your time at the resort, although one time we did get a CM who promised to print off our boarding passes at the designated time - but I wouldn't trust this and most of the time they will tell you they can't do that.

I feel a little naive here...first time flying in over 20 years and a little lost. We are driving to Detroit on April 15 to fly yo Orlando on 16 at 6:40 am on SW. When do we print off our tickets. Is there a place in Orlando or at the SW counter to print off our return tickets? We fly out of Orlando for 7:20 am.
OMG I thought we were prepared and I'm feeling overwhelmed:confused:  :sad2:

You can print your boarding pass 24 hours before your flight. Just go to SW's website. I recommend doing at at exactly the 24 hour mark as you'll be guranteed "A" boarding passes.

Then you just check your luggage and head straight to the gate.

Read my previous post re printing off your return boarding passes - you've basically got 2 options - resort or park.

elm6, your travel is "ticketless". It's Boarding Passes you will be printing when you check in online, starting 24 hours before your flight. Keep your confirmation number handy. We travel with a laptop so can check ourselves in from our room and then get the Boarding Passes "reprinted" at a SW kiosk at MCO.
