Has anyone flown out of Orlando recently? How much time do you need to allow for check-in now?

I flew into and out of Orlando just this week. The time necessary for check-in varies with your airline as well as the time frame for your flight. I believe arriving 2 hours before your flight departs SHOULD give you plenty of time. But there was an long line coming into the security area when I arrived on September 28. I don't see how those people would have gotten through in less than 2 hours.

My return flight was at 7:15 a.m. so the van picked me up at 3:55 a.m. (yikes) for that flight. We arrived at the airport by 4:30 and I was sitting waiting to get a cup of coffee by 5:00. There was no one at the airport but me, I swear!!

Hope that helps...

We gave ourselves 2.5 hours coming home from MCO last Sunday (8:20AM flight on SWA). It was plenty of time for us, but it might not have been if we'd had to have our bags inspected or if we'd had to check rejected carry on baggage. I'd give yourselves at least that much time.

We arrived at 8:15 a.m. for our 11:00 flight. We flew on NW.
NW had quite a few agents checking people in. I think we were past the security
checkpoints by 9:00.
NW isn't serving any meals on their flights anymore. We wanted to have enough time
to eat a meal.
I think you should have at least 2 1/2 hours at the airport.
When the airports become busier, it may take alot longer to get through security.

I think it depends on the day, time, and airline you are flying. We arrived at Washington Dulles on Wednesday morning at 5am for a 6:45am flight. The lines were horrible. The security line wrapped around so far that it blended into the airline ticket lines and made it difficult to figure out which line was for what. Arriving at MCO at 9am was completely different. We flew Delta Express into the B Terminal. We were the only plane in the terminal. No other gates were occupied, no passengers waiting, etc. After taking the monorail to the main terminal, we saw NO line at security,

Coming home last night (Saturday) for a 8:40pm flight, we arrived at 6:30pm. The ticketing line was only about 10 people deep. We got through rather quickly. The line at the B terminal security was minimal and moving quickly. It took less than 5 minutes to move through. We saw NO bags being searched.

We returned home last night flying from MCO. It took us 35 minutes to check through the ticket section. Before we could receive our tickets, our suitcases had to be put through an x-ray machine. They ask if you have any film in it and allow it to be removed before putting it through. At that point, we were given our tickets and proceeded to the next security point. They once again request your tickets along with photo ID. This took about 8 minutes as well. As we stepped through the security point, the National Guard presence was noted as well. The kicker on all this is on our flight down, we were given a snack along with a plastic knife. Go figure!!
