Orion Trekker II vs Slingshot 100 AW

Hello all,

Anyone have either (or both).

Not sure which style to go with, but I feel on the back is the way to go.

Right now I have the Rebel XT 85 1.8 & Sigma 18-125.
I would also like to put a small p&s and my mini cam-corder + some other accessories.

The Trekker II looks to have a storage compartment on the top???

Not got either personally. I've got a micro trekker 200 (here), which I think is excellent for my needs. I've a Canon 300D and three canon lenses (18-55, 28-80 and 75-300). The bag can carry these, along with my speedlite flash, PSP, iPod and some filters with relative ease. So would also easily carry your requirements I would think.

A friend of mine has an over-the-shoulder bag (not sure which one), but it doesn't look anywhere as comfortable as mine, so I would recommend a backpack style one.

Heard good reviews on this Canon backpack....friend bought it and removed the Canon logo for his D70.

Well since I own the Trekker II, I would buy the other one. Maybe I will??! The Trekker works okay but is a pain to get in and out of quickly. I actually ahve been looking for a different backpack for my camera, something alottle easier to get in and out of. Ebags has some good prices on their camera bags too.

I just bought a Lowepro CompuDaypack for our trip to Seattle in Aug. Only used it one but it is very nice. I can fit my laptop plus my D50 with both of my lenses. 18-55, and my 70-300, plus cleaning stuff, batteries. Pretty much everything. I would post a link but I can't yet

Also it is airline approved carry-on size.

Wow, I really like the look of that Orion Trekker!!! Very similar to my Tamrac Adventure 7. I love how the camera goes in at the unzipped base; not hard to access at all; very convenient.Tamrac Adventure 7

I just bought a Lowepro Rover II AW. I haven't used it yet, and I haven't figured out the best way to arrange my lenses, but here's an example of how much room there is in the bottom section:

The two smaller lenses on the left could be stacked one on top of the other, and that leaves additional space on either side for accessories or other lenses.

I usually bring both my Lowepro mini trekker 200 and a shoulder bag (Lowepro Topload Zoom 2) when I go to WDW; the bag I take into the parks depends on how many lenses I want to bring with me. But I also have other things hanging around my neck, such as a small backpack for my wallet and water bottle and other stuff when I bring the shoulder bag. I wanted to limit myself to just one bag that I could put everything in, but I'm concerned it's going to be too heavy. So far, though, the Rover does seem like it will be more comfortable than the mini trekker.
