Original ride restraints...

And the seatbelts! A near copy of those 1970s Space Mountain cars/trains, right down too the side handles and seatbelts, ran on the Matterhorn at Disneyland until they changed the trains in 2012.

When I was little, it was two people per seat, smaller person in front of the larger person, one seatbelt around the pair! I was barely tall enough for the ride and super-skinny, when I rode with my uncle, a 6'3" Marine of solid muscle. About halfway through the ride, I slipped underneath the seatbelt onto the floor of the ride car! I remember spending the rest of that ride with my uncle's arms wrapped around me for dear life, him yelling the whole time, "Don't fall out! Your mother will kill me!!" Oddly enough, it didn't make me less inclined to ride again. I was a bit of a daredevil as a kid.

I miss the lap bar on Tower of Terror. I am such a chicken, I need something to hold on to for dear life. I can't handle the ride now with the seat belts.

I think (anyone else know for sure?) there are metal grab bars between the seats and one along the side for those on the ends of the rows. I seem to remember the "armrest shuffle" like when you are on a plane with only one armrest between you. I always let my hands float up for fun anyway.

Yep, on both coasts. Yep, on "armrest shuffle" to use them.

Yes, not quite enough for me, though. I am more of a contort my arms around the bar in a death grip kind of girl, lol.
