Orient Bay or Grand Case Beach in St. Maarten

For a relaxing day at St. Maarten would you choose Orient Beach or Grand Case Beach? Who has been to either one and what did you think. Your comments will be greatly appreciated!!

We have been to Orient Bay two times based on recommendations from the crew. Each time we made our home at the Kakao Beach Club -- their food is excellent, plus it's a nice location on the beach (near the middle). Beach chairs and umbrellas were available for rent and we even took advantage of the diving platform and slide anchored about 50' offshore at the next club down! It was very relaxing! Needless to say we are going back again on the 4/5/03 Eastern!!!

Try www.cruisecritic.com for lots of info on beaches. If you choose the forums/boards heading and then head down to destinations (or something similar), you can choose your island. There are other sites for info, but I've found this one to be the most helpful.

be careful and find out where the taxi will drop you off. we went to bikini beach. the bathroom is a large round bowl. dh had to walk dd down to a hotel a couple of beaches away. the waves were fun. also!!! it is a nude beach! you see all kinds. grand case i hea r is mild waters no waves at all. right off the boat. i heard dawn beach is nice. good luck. st john is heaven when you doc in st thomas.
