We were at the beach with our kids a couple years ago. There is a nude beach at one end. The rest of the beach is clothing optional, but we found that most people had clothes on. A few ladies walked by topless. We found that this wasn't really a big deal, but I think it depends on your views of nudity. I used it as an opportunity to talk to the kids about different views. I would rather my kids see what "real" people look like instead of see perfect bodies in nude magazines!

We also plan on taking our children. We'll have a talk beforehand about what they might see so there are no surprises. DH and I have been there many times and we think it's a beautiful, fun beach we'd hate to miss out on. We also use the opportunity to talk about other cultures-not everywhere in the world has the same norms as the U.S. and that doesn't mean it's a bad or dangerous thing. That said, our kids are fairly young and I reserve to change my mind when they become teenagers
