I am very scatterbrained when it comes to organizing things, and our next Dis cruise isn't until 2018 but we want to use our lanyards, pins, magnets etc from our last trip. What do you do with all your cruise/ Disney stuffin between trips? I can't leave it in my suitcase or else I'd be pouring it all out any other time I need the suitcase. But anywhere else and I'll forget I have it. Kids and dh are no help. Any tips? Thanks.

I have a clear plastic box that contains our lanyards, magnets, FE, and other Disney items that we take on our cruises. Stays on a shelf in my closet, but being clear plastic I instantly see what it contains so I don't forget where it is or have trouble finding it.

We have a Disney bin that contains both cruise and park items. I pull it out each time we are preparing for a trip. It will be coming out again soon! :)

Thank you, this is an easy solution. Yet one my disorganized brain could not figure out on its own. I will also put a note in my suitcase to remember the box!

I have a Disney Frozen themed reusable shopping bag that hangs in my closet and contains all the miscellaneous stuff for cruising like lanyards, etc. The only things that don't go in the bag are copies of my old naviagators and other paperwork that I keep in an expandable folder.

Not trying to criticize your organization at all so don't take it that way, but interesting you mentioned hanging the bag in the closet. I was watching a DIY show on organizing the other night and they were saying the only thing that should be hanging in a closet are hangers and what's on them, everything else is just clutter.

I have one of those clear plastic bags that zip closed (like bedding & pillows are sold in. I have many different sizes of them and also use them for off-season clothes, storing blankets, etc.

No worries! My organization is definitely not perfect, and I am working on reducing my overall clutter. But...technically my bag is hanging on a hanger so it doesn't count :goodvibes

I guess for appearance sake that would make sense...but if you have lots of hanging space and not a lot of shelf space, why would hanging things be so bad? Those design shows always leave me like... o_O Thats why I work in the travel industry and not in design. Ha!

Haha...great minds think alike!! I have a Mickey Mouse reusable shopping bag that I keep in the closet to hold all my cruise/WDW specific items. Took me many cruises to finally figure out I should keep all the items together instead of looking for them in many places before each cruise. Works great and this trip's packing was a breeze!!

You could also just store the box inside the suitcase. If you go somewhere non-Disney, just take the box out and put it where the suitcase normally is.

I actually like that idea so much that I think that this is what I will do with my travel related stuff! Will free up some space in my closet...

I travel pretty often so I keep things I almost always use when I travel in my suitcase: packing cubes, shoe covers, a small first aid/OTC meds kit, a small bag filled with my "essentials" (alarm clock, small flashlight, wine opener, sewing kit, travel sized duct tape, clothespins, plug adaptors, luggage scale, and zip-ties), back and neck pillows for flying, eyeshades and earplugs for flying, and similar items. This way I know where these items are when I get ready to pack for my next trip.

In addition to my "Disney only" box, I have an old tote bag containing other travel related things I might need when I travel (spare luggage tags and locks, a small hand-held fan for summer days, etc), but this is kept in a storage closet since I don't need access to it very often.
