Hey there, does anyone know if any of the restaraunts on Disney property serve organic type foods? Me and my significant other can't seem to find a specific answer.

Not much, but more than before.

I know that they serve organic iced tea at the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodles Station -- at least, they did when we were there last May. Also, I know they serve organic wine, and maybe other organic foods at at The Garden Grill in the Land Pavillion at EPCOT. (Isn't weird that they started with beverages??) There may be some organic items in The Land food court.

Once you start eating organic foods, it's hard to eat conventional, huh? You visualize all the junk that's in there.

It is and I just find it so hard to visit disney for a long enough day because I can't eat the food there.

Garden Grill uses a great deal of the produce that Disney grows on property but if you are looking for places that are 100% organic, the answer is none. The cost would be prohibitive for "standard park fare". For example I know that I pay $3 for an organic artichoke as compared to $1 at the store.

Disney is a business. The volume of people that need lower cost options precludes the use of all organic foods at their counter service and regular table service and keep their profit margin.

I don't think you will find anything like what your use to if you eat organic.

I grow all my own veggies, make everything from scratch. Purchase most of my foods and all my meats from Whole Foods. I do not eat any store bought canned foods or dehydrated mixes.

I'm very critical of foods when I'm eating out. The one problem I always seem to have is salt. Everything is over salted. Or has some kind of preservative in it that taste nasty.

This being said I have had some good meals at Disney. I'm careful what I order. I avoid soups (too salty), fried foods (heavy grease taste), and casseroles (you never know whats in these babies).

I think Disney could make organic more affordable. They're such a huge customer. I heard that McDonalds recently decided not to use chicken that had been treated with antibiotics. That decision pushed a number of top chicken producers to radically curb their use of antibiotics.

If Disney decided to put just one organic counter service or restaurant in each park, they could make it affordable. Besides, people will pay a premium for organic foods.

have you asked disney? i would say that eating organic is a dietary issue just like allergies or diabetic, etc... and they are very very very accommodating w/those type of requests, so why not organic...

i would start by calling the dining line, then ask for the numbers of some of the individual restaurants (if they won't give them to you, let me know and i will share the #s of the restaurants i have as ds has food allergies and we called each place 48 hours before our meal) that you would like to try and give the chef a call to see if they offer organic or if they *could* offer organic for you...

it doesn't hurt to ask :flower:

Wow, I didn't know about McDonald's doing something like that, it's extremely radical behavior on their part but it makes me smile. Now if only they can not serve the processed kangaroo meat as beef then we'd be better.

I did think it was funny that this thread was two below the Casey's hot dog question :lmao:

That's my only thought on either subject!:)
