Oregon Trail Game.. Have a Copy?? I'm pleading...

I know a lot of you will remember this game, but does anyone have a copy either of Oregon Trail (original) or Oregon Trail II? It's almost impossible to come upon because the original developer MECC was bought out by TLC a number of years ago and the rights are a mess. I'm begging anyone for information on this game...

Oh my god...You are my new best friend! I absolutely loved that game and would play it EVERY day in third grade! I always was the banker, so I'd have the most money...I also named the other people in my wagon after boys I liked...I was such a silly little thing, because it would tickle me to have the screen say, "Jason has dysentery. Lose three days" I also learned to always pay the Indian guide to cross the river, so you wouldn't capsize!

So if you find a copy, please, please, share with me! My husband has never played this game and I spent almost an hour last month trying to explain it to him!

Try this site...learningco.com. My dd just got one thru school (I think). She loves it. Sorry but you can't have hers. She would leave home. The kids in her 4th grade class play it all the time, especially at indoor recess. The site is what's listed on the back. Maybe that could get you some info.

I have been trying to find that game forever!

Some of my most cherished elementary school memories involve giving people "bad" (for an elementary schooler) names so we could see things like "Butthead has dysentery" pop up on the screen.

Hahaha! My friends and I were worse. We would name lal our characters after our teachers, and play badly on purpose so when the last person died, we could leave an epitath on their tombstone, which would be saved to the disk so everytime someone played on that disk, they would see "Here lies Mr. Katchurick - "IBMs suck, apples rule" "

btw- I'm downloading it right now. You can get "The Oregon Trail Deluxe" a VGA remake of the original oregon trail on www.the-underdogs.org.

Actually I found a copy of Oregon Trail (v 1.1). I was so happy!! It's exactly as I remember in elementry school. Anyhow, it works on my Mac in OS 9. Not sure if it will work in Windows. However, anyone who wants more information on getting yourself a copy e-mail me at lucky_bunni@yahoo.com.
