Orderly bus queues in Disney?

Are the bus queues orderly from the resort parks in Disney to the theme parks? On our last visit to Disneyland Paris we were nearly flattened by late comers pushing to get on ahead of people and children who had waited patiently for ages! Hoping its less frantic in Orlando?

I've seen it both ways. It seemed to become a free for all at the All Star Sports every time we stayed there.

It seemed the most polite at the AKL, but there were seldom more than a handful of people waiting to board.

I think the orderliness of the bus queues at WDW has an inverse relationship with the wait times.

Long wait times = disorderly, impatient mob trying to get on the bus before existing passengers can even exit

Short wait times = orderly, respectful guests waiting in a calm line, allowing all existing passengers to exit calmly

This inverse relationship seems to exist no matter where I was within WDW. I think it's a scientific law.

When did they put the queue lines in at the values? We haven't stayed there in years, as I said in my earlier post, it was a madhouse when we did.

And POP can still be a bit crazed!!! When we were there, most people waited nicely in the queue area. But there were always those that thought the chains were up for others, not them. They would just walk along the edge of the walkway, by the outside of the queue chains, and try to board by cutting those in the line off at the pass, so to speak. Or, if someone was walking towards the bus and people were boarding, they would rush to the outside of the queue area and walk right up to the door of the bus!! Only one time have I had a bus driver tell someone to get to the end of the line!!!
But, for the most part, people are pretty good. I'm not sure why some feel justified in hopping over to the door of the bus, when they had just gotten to the bus stop, and there were quite obviously others that had been waiting. I found this a lot at BW and BC/YC. But, life is too short to be too concerned about it.

It was shortly after they saw how great the queues were at Pop.

I agree that the issues come up at places that do NOT have the chains. Downtown Disney was nuts trying to get on the bus when they closed the boats due to lightning. People pushing and no line, totally disrespecting those that were waiting patiently.

I have seen the opposite at the parks. The lines are orderly and work really well.

Here's my 2¢ for chains at every bus location!

While I have seen some pushing and shoving, it is definitely better than at DL in California. The Anaheim Transit busses used by most hotels now are small trolleys with doors in front and back.

Often I would see people wait patiently at the front door for everyone to disembark, only to have latecomers pile into the back and fill the trolley, leaving the patient ones denied boarding. Never once in all my trips did I see a driver say anything.

On one trip I had a broken shoulder with a cast and sling, and the trolley left the first five in line (me and four elderly people, most with canes) at the curb since the yahoos had all boarded at the back and skipped the line.

Luckily at DL I can walk back to my hotel if need be; at WDW that simply doesn't happen for most resorts as they are not walkable from the parks due to distance as well as lack of sidewalks.

I totally agree! I would add a couple more: heat and time of day. If it is hot, people want to get on an cool bus ASAP, thus more shoving.

At park closing, bus boarding can get somewhat impatient. Everyone's tired and just wants to get back to their hotel to crash. Some know they face a ride back standing the entire way -- not fun if your feet are worn out.

On our last trip, we didn't encounter any real problems at the resorts or parks. But then we didn't encounter big crowds either.
