Ordering special treats and the AKL???

Has anyone ever ordered birthday cakes, chocolate covered strawberries, ect.. to be sent to the AKL? We are staying there from 10/2 - 10/7, standard, not concierge - and it's our 7th anniversary on 10/4 and dd's 2nd birthday the next day. I know that you can get things sent to the Poly, GF, ect., but I don't know if anything can be sent to the AKL. Anyone know if this is possible and what is available? Thanks!

Yes you can. We had a birthday cake and presents delivered to our room. I don't know who I actually talked to though. I called the AKL directly told them what I was looking for and they transfered me to someone. So my best advice would be to call AKL.

My son will be celebrating his 16th birthday while we are in WDW and I just got off of the phone with AKL bakery to see about ordering a cake. They need 24 hour notice and they will deliver it to the room. There is a 3.00 delivery charge and an 18% automatic gratuity charge. The phone number is: 407-938-4720 to order.

Great topic (I was just getting on here to ask the same question). My niece's birthday on October 4th too. We were planning on getting a cake etc, but I was wondering if anyone knows about decorations. I know at other resorts they will bring a few balloons, streamers and confetti. If I remember correctly from our last stay, balloons are not allowed at AKL. I was just wondering if anyone had any decoration alternatives.

I forgot to mention that I also asked about plates, forks, and napkins. They provide this with the cake. If you want to add decorations to the room, balloons etc.. you might ask, I did not because I plan to decorate the room myself with a few things from home and what I get from WDW. I am doing a Pirate theme as my son loves pirates and had an eye injury in May, had surgery, and has worn an eye patch since then. He loves the fact that yesturday was "Talk Like a Pirate" day. Arrr

I remember seeing a note somewhere while resort shopping that no balloons are allowed at AKL.
