Ordering question

I guess the free dining thing does come in to play with the cost. I just checked online and it's about a $20 difference between listing him at 9 and listing him at 10. Not worth the hassle of "hoping" that the changes would be accepted at all of the restaurants.
Yep, the only difference is paying for an adult park ticket.

hello i have a question about the quick service dining plan.

according to a number of unofficial sources as of may 31st 2015 there have been
a number of changes to the way you can use dining plan credits.

so i am wondering if you can officially tell me whether or not adult and child
credits at quick service locations are interchangeable?

if these changes are official then can you tell me when you will make it known
on your website and in your brochures?

thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

so OP, are you now going to take my advice and list your DS9 as 9yrs old on the reservation since i've now officially confirmed that in fact at quick service restaurants adult and child credits are interchangeabel and the change took effect as of may 31st 2015?

or are you going to list DS9 as 10yrs old and pay the extra for the ticket?

So, there's what it says, and then there's what you think it says.

What it says is, if you have two adults and two children on the plan, they will not restrict you to only ordering two adult meals in a single transaction anymore. They won't even limit you to four total meals.

However, it does not say that kids can order adult meals. You might want to infer that, but it is not explicitly stated. The brochures for both 2015 and 2016 still say that children must order from the kids menu.

This is the same "change" that people are using to justify paying for people who are not on the plan. Again, that's not what it says. The language they use may make it better known that it's possible, but it's still a loophole.
since i've now officially confirmed
Again, that didn't confirm anything.

ok. and thats what you think.
but you have nothing to confirm your thoughts. ]
i have an email directly for the horses mouth.
if you want to discredit me then i suggest you send an email and get confirmation of your theory of what it means.

Read that email again. Does it say that kids can order from the adult menu? Disney's lawyers review every canned response that goes out the door. You can be sure that message says exactly what they want it to say.

I hope they really are working on adding information to the official site, because it has been over a month since the changes were supposedly made and things still seem clear as mud. Even if I take this for the complete truth, it still leaves a lot of questions. And, for me personally, I'm not going to ask customer service myself, because I've learned to be wary of some of their answers.
Guests may substitute dessert or non-alcoholic beverage for any eligible Snack
item within the same transaction.
I want this to be true, but I've been seeing some reports of people trying to do exactly this since May 31 and not being allowed. This change is confirmed by the 2016 brochure for January 1, but I'm not certain when it will be fully rolled out and all CMs will know to allow it.
Quick Service Restaurant locations will no longer enforce the child/adult mix of
Disney Dining Plan meal purchases.
So, they won't enforce it...but why is that? Are they not enforcing it because the rules are changing despite the 2016 brochure saying guests 3-9 must order from the kids' menu where available? Or is it against the rules and they're just letting our consciences be our guides?
New Meal-to-Snack Option allows Guests to substitute (1) one Quick Service Meal
for up to (3) three eligible Snack plan items within the same transaction.
Is this available at all locations or just the select list that has been floating around? Again, will all CMs know this is allowed and how to enter the transaction?
