Ordering off the kids menu

My son will be 10 when we are on our vacation. We hope to be on the dining plan. My concern is that he is a very picky eater and would have much better luck finding something to eat by ordering from the kids menu. Will I have any problems with him ordering from the kids menu since he is over 9?

Anyone and everyone can order off the kids menu. But if you're using a dining credit, they might offer to make an adult portion of the kid's meal. Alternatively, you could pay out of pocket for his kids meal and save the adult credits for your own use.

Of course, at fixed-price meals, he'll be charged as an adult.

No, it shouldn't be a problem in most places. It will, however, be a waste of the dining plan, in my opinion. You will have to pay adult prices for the dining plan and if he orders only off the kid's menu, you won't be getting a good value.

Ok, thank you! We're hoping to get the dining plan free, it is usually offered at the time we plan to go. So it's not so much the cost I was worried about, but him being able to eat at the places we wanted to try. :) We haven't eaten at any table service restaurants on our prior trips, so were looking forward to trying a lot!

Perhaps this topic should have its own permanent thread like tipping and buffet prices as it seems to be asked several times every day.:duck::rolleyes1
