Ordering off kids menu?

I have a 10 year old who will be ordering off the kids menu and wants the small portion, not a larger portion. I am curious about how much of an upcharge there is - I am seeing anywhere from a few dollars more to double on this thread - what do people find to be the going rate for an upcharge for a 10 year old? I understand why they do it, and I am fine with it, rules are rules. I am just trying to plan the food budget. (Truthfully I wish they were kids until 12 but that's a different thread!)
Following! I will have a 12-year-old and two barely 10-year-olds on our upcoming trip. All three still eat like kids - kid food and kid portions.

Same I'll have a daughter who doesn't weigh much or eat a ton who will have turned 10 less than a month prior to our upcoming trip. Will they check her age in MDE or will she be able to pass for a kid and get a kids meal at a kids price? For quick service it's not an issue but for some of the sit down places we go she won't want double food or adults choices.

There is no going rate. It's a special request and it varies. If I was budgeting I'd double the child portion charge. It won't always be that much but it avoids underestimating.

I've heard of issues in Mexico and Italy since those are both third-party restaurants.

One time, and I'm sorry but I can't remember where, we were told that the drink was not included when an adult ordered from the kids menu.

The larger portion thing was usually related to the dining plan. If you were redeeming an adult credit for a kids menu entrée, they'd bring a larger portion. I've never heard of anyone actually getting charged extra for a larger kids menu item when paying out of pocket. I'd probably need to see a receipt as proof of that claim.

We don’t have the dining plan this time specifically because I didn’t want to pay like 400 dollars more for my daughter who will eat 0 dollars more food. I assume they’ll auto charge her adult rates at the All you care to eat and Character Meal places, but hopefully we can save some with the kids menu at sit downs.
