Ordering Magic Bands questions

There are 6 of us staying onsite. Do we all need to select a magic band at the same time? I had selected the one I wanted but it now says sold out. Can i purchase the upgraded ones at different times or does everyone need to decide at the same time? Thank you!

Yes, you need to select them all at the same time and it’s super frustrating. I’m trying to order mine. There is one that keeps showing up as available EVERY TIME I GO IN, but when I try to order it, it tells me it’s sold out. So, I go back in and there it is again. Irritating to say the least.

You might consider just ordering plain color ones and then looking for skins online that allow you to customize your magic bands.

Keep in mind, there are magic bands everywhere that you can buy if you want special ones. We finally broke down on our last trip and I let the kids get special ones thinking it was a waste. My son and I stayed a day in October before a cruise and I ended up getting one and now I’m in love. My daughter has 101 Dalmatians, my son has Bambi, and I have It’s a Small World.

We ended up ordering decals from etsy.. you can also mix and match the bands and pucks for some great designs.

With six people, it is pretty much impossible to get upgraded bands for everyone (this is by design--they only put a few types of upgraded bands at the discounted price available at a given time; think of it like a "clearance sale for bands). If you all want customized bands, the only real workable solution is to order what you can at the discount online, and then purchase full-price for the remaining guests from shopdisney.com or one of the stores onsite.

When I have a split stay and I did order 2 sets of magic bands, how come the second box hasn’t arrived? Trip is 25 days away and I ordered months ago.

is the 2nd set the plain free ones? I thought those ship closer to the arrival date. we have a split stay and have not ordered the 2nd set yet; seems like a waste then we won't be using them.
