Ordering groceries vs. buying on the way to resort??

IF we buy cold/frozen foods from grocery store...in AUGUST...and we check in and they can't put us in the resort yet....will they store frozen stuff like waffles and icecream? Or do you think...we should ordre that stuff from the DVC web site and not pick up any cold stuff on the way to the resort? We have a 30 min. grocery stop with our car service. IS there a store at SSR that sells breakfast type stuff like waffles and such?? Thanks

Why not order your groceries online from garden grocer.com. They will deliver right to your villa! The local Publix might too - you'd have to check their website. The hotel will not store your frozen stuff I don't think. The luggage room is not even air conditioned!
They do have a small selection of items at the market at SSR.

Actually they will store your frozen stuff for you. One year at WL we checked in but room wasn't ready, but they took all our stuff. I wanted to get our bathing suits out of our suitcase so they brought me in where they store the suitcases. There were big freezers (like the ones at the supermarket) and all our groceries, as well as others, were in there. And sure enough when everything was brought to our room later everything was perfectly cold!

On a side note, we're going to try garden grocer next month but what we usually do is fax our order to Albertsons the day before we leave. Then we make a quick stop on the way from the airport and when you go in they have your order waiting for you. All you have to do is pay and your on your way. It's about a 10 minute stop.

There are friges & freezers @ all the DVC's and I M Experience, also at the Poly & GF and storing is no problem.
IMHO....schlepping grocery bags, in Fla's heat, isn't what I want to do on vacation. gardengrocer has been great for me...and delivery right to the room was .
If your not there, they will leave it in the resort frig/freezer and a bell hop can bring it up later.

This is our first trip home and we are doing that split stay so for this trip we are planning on only getting drinks/water/ snacks and probably some quickie breafast items. SO we won't have a lot of stuff that is cold and I don't plan on cooking any dinners whatsoever and I doubt we will make lunhes either. I don't mind stopping at the store as long as they will store the frozen/cold stuff for us in case room is not ready. Thanks everyone.

If we drive to WDW, we will usually stop and get our own groceries...

That being said, when we fly into MCO, we use Wegoshop.com...

And as others have said, the resort will keep food frozen for you..
