Ordering from Von's (with Canadian credit card)....

I know I read about a way to get around this but I can't find it. I'm Canadian and want to order groceries from their site. Is there any way around that besides going to the US and getting a Safeway gift card?

I'm Canadian too!!!

What I did was get a US Visa gift card (so you can use it anywhere, not just at Safeway). You have to enter the hotel address as your billing address (it has to be a US address), which is why you cannot do this with a Canadian credit card. Not sure how close to the US you are (we live about 15 minutes away from Washington State, so I do frequent quick trips for shopping).

The other thing I would suggest then is just take a taxi to a grocery store once you are there. That way you can make sure you get exactly what you want and no delivery fees

Sorry I haven't heard of a Visa giftcard before. I do live near the sumas border. Where would I purchase such a gift card from?

Well it looks like I will be taking a cab or just buying from the store at our hotel. I called customer service and they bluntly said we do not accept canadian credit cards so I guess too bad for you.

Not impressed with the customer service - I am not sure why these places can't try to accommodate everyone.

I'm from Canada, and successfully ordered from Von's last year on our trip; a sweet DisBoard member had PM'd me to tell me one of her credit cards had worked - the other hadn't. Same for us! One credit card would not be authorized, and another one was authorized. We used the hotel billing addy as well. My suggestion is to try a few credit cards if you have to. BRING the one that you do end up using!!! We brought ours, and didn't need it in the end, but it's a good idea of course to have it with you.

Good luck! We were thrilled to be able to have free delivery on water, juice, granola bars, cereal, milk, etc.

You can get them at basically any grocery store, convenience store, pharmacy. They will be with the other gift cards. You use it like a regular credit card - but because you don't need a billing address as it's prepaid, you can enter the hotel address for the billing address for the delivery

The good thing with Von's too is that they have a code for free delivery if it's your first order.
