My son is 12 and will be 13 when we go back in Jan. Do you think he will be able to order off the kid's menu at any of the sit down places?? I know at character buffets we have to pay for the adult price but at other sit downs...what do you think? He is so finicky. My 7 year old eats more than him at most meals. He would rather have the hotdog or chicken fingers off the kids's menu. I would be willing to pay more than the kid price ....but the choices are what he is more apt to eat. Just wanted some feedback on this. It would probably come down to us feeding him some counter service somewhere before our sit down ADR and him just ordering a soda while we eat if they won't accomodate us.

Thanks

It will be ok. I'm turning 20 in two days, and I still order off of Kid's Menus when I really am not that hungry or there isn't much on the menu I'm in the mood for. I had the kid's chicken fingers at the Brown Derby because the night before my father and I had a huge meal.

DS just turned 12 (and looks 15). We were at WDW in June, and he asked for both menus when we were being seated. If he didn't see anything he liked on the adult menu, he asked if he could order from the kids menu. They said yes every time he asked if he could order from the kids menu.

Some kids just don't like the more sophisticated fare at table service restaurants. I don't think they should be forced to order from the adult menu if there's nothing on there they want to eat, or if they know the portions will be too big for them.

That's us exactly!!!

I fully understand the character places/buffets completely but at TS...he is not going to find anything he likes on the adult.

Thanks for letting me know.
