I know, I know the menu is intended for ages 9 and under, but after almost memorizing the menus from the data base I am almost certain feeding one of my sons is going to be a pain...unless at counter service resteraunts I order him food from the childrens menus. Are the CMs going to growl at me? Honestly if I could force him to eat a wider variety of food, I would. We have a few character meals buffet style for the trip, but I am stressing out over this!! Help!!!

While the Munch Inc. Children's Meals available at Disneyland Resort Restaurants are designed for and aimed towards Guests under 9 years of age, anyone can order them.

However, please remember that the portion sizes are designed to satisfy Guests under 9 years of age. Depending on a Guests appetite, it may not be sufficient.

Indeed, I eat Kids Meals all the time when I visit the Parks as a Guest. When you make Disney wages, you take what you can afford, lol ;).

I had quite a few counter service children's meals last year. In many cases it worked out better than ordering and spliting an adult mean between DD and I and it gave us better variety - I would have fish and her chicken so we could swap. My DH had the adult size meals, and ate still the left overs from DD and I :lmao::lmao:

We have also had no problem ordering kids menu items from counter service places. :goodvibes

I always order my dd (who is now 13 so this may not be the case next trip) a kids meal at all cs places in DL and WDW. Also, at any table service places that are NOT buffets. Or I may just order her a side salad. She simply cannot eat adult sized portions at restaurants.

Again, at the buffets, I pay full price for her.

You can definitely order kid's meals for anyone. Its not like the CM needs to see the kid, :lmao:, I just have DH get me a kids meal and stand in the background. I've also seen grown men order kids meals for themselves. They are much smaller portions though. For instance, the chicken nuggets meal only includes four nuggets, and the about 6 apple slices in the pack. And also you get a small soda (or juice or milk). For lunch, for me, in most cases, this is enough. But sometimes I'm staring at DH's crispy chicken sandwich and fries, or delicious turkey foccacia sandwich and think otherwise! Of course, smaller meals mean more room for all those delicious snacks! And another thing, they're also much cheaper! :cool1:

IMO, the best kids meals are the mini burger's at taste pilots and the chicken nuggets meal anywhere. The turkey wrap is way to small to feed my appetite, and I'm not a fan of hot dogs. I haven't tried any of the other meals.

FWIW....we ordered kids meals for two 11 year olds at Cafe Orleans. They offered us the menus when we walked in and mentioned the regular menu may not be too appealing to the kids so we could choose to order from either menu for them. They both chose something from the kids menu and then shared the pomme frites and bignets with us. My son tasted our cheese monte cristo and loved it, my neice barely finished her kids meal.

I am 17 and got my mum to order me a kids meal from the counter on Friday. American sizes are much much bigger than Australian sizes and there is no way I could eat a full sized meal, I didn't even make it through the Mini Burgers and Fries kids meal from the Restaurant next to Soarin':rotfl2:

Abent - Wanna trade kids??? My DD is a foodie, we're talking sashimi & falafel here.......In other words, taking the girl out is pricey!! So no....we wouldn't save money trading at DL but the rest of the time? Definately! She picks things off a menu that cost more than MY choice! My DS however is much like yours, so I feel your pain.

Anyway, I don't think it would be a problem. Worst case scenario they make you pay adult price & if it keeps my kid quiet about the ickiness of greens(lettuce on a burger, oh NO!) I'll gladly pay that price! :thumbsup2

We have a DD13 and DD9, DD13 eats tiny portions and many times doesn't find anything on the "adult" menu that appeals to her. In those cases we simply let her pick from the kid's menu. We mentioned that to our server at Cafe Orleans once and she said "just so you know, anyone can order anything off the kid's menu and if you think it may not be enough we can double the portion for double the price." I let her know that the single portion would probably be just fine and we had NO problems at all ordering from the kid's menus. :) So even if an adult doesn't find anything they want on the regular menu you could order from the kid's menu, but for adults they will do the double double deal.
