Ordering a Birthday Cake (or two)

Has anyone ordered a cake while at WDW? We will be celebrating our two sons' birthday on the upcoming trip. We would like to have a birthday cake or two and I am wondering how to go about ordering it. Is there a central location from which to order (like Boardwalk Bakery?) or could I order one directly through restaurants? I am looking for a fairly elaborate cake with figurines and other decorations.

I would try calling Disney Dining and see if they have a particular phone number you could call. I'll be doing this in Oct '06 also for a special birthday.

Disney Dining gave me a phone number to order a birthday cake, I can't seem to find it though. All I was told was to make sure I order it 48 hours in advance, and it can be delivered to where I want it--in my case, the restruant where we will be having dinner.

Hi! I ordered a birthday cake last June when we ate at the Liberty Tree Tavern. It was beautiful and delicious. We're going again this June. Here is the number that Disney Dining gave me to order the cake: 1-407-824-7091

I ordered the Mickey cake, for my dd, 12/04. I called the Boardwalk Bakery, they had many to choose from. I was even able to pick it up the day I ordered it. I know I was lucky, but it totaly slipped my mind until the day before her birthday.
