Orbitz Ticket Specials

Reworded the search and finally found SEVERAL posts saying it's not an issue. YAY!!!! :D

Glad you found the info you needed! If Ebates/Orbitz offers the 20% cash back again then I will definitely buy some tickets for my family, but I also am not 100% sure on our dates. Luckily I will be going solo in March and can change the vouchers into tickets then. Hope that deal is offered again!

oh no, just went to buy my tickets in cheaptickets and it says they are unavailable?????!!!!!! Maybe due to price increase?

Strange. Orbitz appears to still have them. I was under the impression the sites were operated by the same folks

At what point did it tell you this? I just went on there and I can get all the way to the checkout. What sort of tickets (#days) were you ordering?

I tried again and now it seems to work...that was odd! whew. If I put in travel dates for June but we don't go til Nov, instead can I still redeem the vouchers?

You might have put in 2016, instead of 2015. They are only available for the current calendar year.

Hmmmmm, I emailed them to ask about redeeming the vouchers for tickets since I do not know what month we are going for sure and this is the response I got back.
"
Hello. My name is Selvin and I’ll be glad to assist you with your inquiry today.
I understand that you want to buy tickets to Disneyland and you want to know if the date matters or if they have expiration dates.
It is important to know in what date are you going to use the vouchers, because most of the activities that you find in Orbitz are non refundable. Also, the vouchers do have an expiration date, so if you buy an activity to be redeemed on November 5th. (For example) the voucher could only be used on November 5th even though there are other dates with the same activity.
I hope this help you to clarify your question. Remember to join our Orbitz Rewards loyalty program! You can earn valuable Orbucks on your new reservation."

Not sure what to make of it..

I think the main thing with the dates is Disneyland only sells tickets that are good through a certain date. That is my understanding at least. The earlier posts I found on the issue, most said that they have to over ride it if you go on a different date, but they do it all the time with these kind of vouchers. Orbitz really has no idea what Disney will or won't do, so you will probably always get a generic answer from them.

So if I choose Nov. but we go in June I should be ok, but if I choose June and we push it off til Nov. I might have more of an issue?

Yes, it is possible. I can't find where I saw it but for some reason I thought the current batch of vouchers sold on Orbitz were good through Oct sometime (the 15th is what comes to mind but I can't say for sure). Otherwise, the exact date you plan to do doesn't matter.

And you are not going to get an answer from Orbitz about it. They can't speak for Disney. And you aren't going to get a clear answer from Disney since you aren't going to find someone say they'll honor tickets no matter when you go since they do have expiration dates.

The answer Orbitz gave you is applicable to many event/activities. You do buy them for a specific date and you have to go on that date or the activity is "over sold". Like say, you bought a ticket to see a concert. Clearly, you can't opt to use that ticket on a different date since someone else probably bought that ticket for that date. Theme park tickets don't really fit in that mold but they have the same answer for all Activities, just to make it simple for their call center. Remember, call center folks rarely think for themselves. They read scripts. You say I have a question about an Activity. They pull up their Activity help screen, fill in the blanks and give a canned answer. At least that's how most call centers I've worked at operated. That way, all workers give the same answer

The biggest issue I see is if they really are doing a price increase...I could see Disneyland making more of a stink about the voucher dates. I will only be using mine a week before my voucher dates say, but with the price increase I would be concerned they would be less like to override months worth. I guess I really don't have an answer, and likely you won't get a concrete answer from either place!

I just wanted to let everyone know that if you have recently bought park tickets from Cheaptickets through Ebates to check your Ebates account because you may have received extra cash back from Cheaptickets. On Monday I bought my park ticket for my upcoming April trip and today when I checked my Ebates account there was an extra $10 cash back from Cheaptickets for having spent over $200. That was a nice little surprise. :)

Me too!

I signed up for Ebates after reading about it on this board.
Bought my DL tickets through the "activities" section of Orbitz. Entered our dates about a month out.
No problem.
It did take me a bit of searching on the Orbitz site, but once I found the activities section, it was easy.
And I am gonna' get about $65.00 and a $10 Walmart gift card back in May. Just for buying the tickets I was going to anyway.
Pretty cool!

So ebates wrote me back and said that I should get 3% back on activities. They are looking into it but it could take as long as 45 days.

Ebates emailed me back and fixed it so I got about $23 back. I am happy with that.

Just purchased the 3 day park hopper ticket and get a 4th day free through Ebates from Cheaptickets but only received the original rebate. No extra $10.00. :(
