Was looking for rooms last night on property for a conference April 15-17 and knew of the 25% room discount through Disney. I started checking rates for Caribbean Beach and all sites were running around $661 for the 4 nights, give or take a few cents. Found the Orbitz code on retail me not and it knocked the rooms from $661 to $578, nearly $85 less.

Is there any reason I should not use Orbitz to book Disney rooms?

I think people were saying that the booking fee will sometimes push it over Disney's price. It is worth trying though! It'll give you a total before you finish!

you missed the 20% one that expired, keep an eye out for new ones

rates are prepaid but cancellable within their stated window.

you cannot add the DP

ebates offers a nice % on orbitz bookings

did you check to see if your conference/convention had rates onsite?

as for 'booking fee' I saw none that was reflected in my final price which was a true 20% less than rates on WDW site.:)

Did not see a booking fee.
The rooms for the conference are $195 a night, more expensive than the current Disney offer. Coronado is sold out so the overflow attendees were moving to Caribbean Beach with direct shuttles to Coronado.

I'll keep the Orbitz room.

Be sure to go through ebates and you will get money back on the orbitz price :thumbsup2

There is no booking fee. It's a great deal. Lots of people are booking through Orbitz to get this deal. Only problem is that if you have special requests you need to go through Orbitz. We used them and they've been great. They will just get you to hold while they call Disney and take care of it for you. Basically Disney will only deal with orbitz as the reservation is technically in their name. You can call orbitz and ask for the 12 digit Disney confirmation number and set up your Disney reservations online and change the reservation to your name and address allowing you to do online check in etc. the magical express is easy to book directly online through this site

If you're not happy with orbitz you can cancel with no fees. Worth it IMO.
Oh and for those with kids, it's cheaper to book as just two adults through orbitz, then calling and adding the kids later for free.

Hope you have a great vacation!! :thumbsup2
