Hi

I just got back from Florida and was not allowed to bring my orange through. I know you are allowed to bring orange but the person at the airport said that there is now an embargo on oranges. Apparently some oranges have canquers which is a disease so you can't even bring them out of the state. The only exception is to ask the place selling to oranges to give you this special tag that specifies that the orange grove does not have the disease. Unfortunaltly we didn't know about this and we had to throw out half a bushel of oranges! The airport worker said that they have bags of oranges that they had to take away from people. So make sure you ask for the special tag from the orange places! If you are driving thoughit might be alright because they never asked at the boarder if we had oranges. WE flew out of buffalo.

Thanks for sharing! I had wondered on the last trip, and now I know :D

the only oranges yo can bring back are the ones you get at the airport ,,and i didnt ever see them the last 3 or 4 trips,,but no you cannt bring any fruit at all..and donnt try to if you get caught iitttsss a nice fine....

We just returned on Sunday and they never even asked us if we had oranges or grapefruit. We drove and I know last time the lady said as long as there in a sealed bag and not bulk it is okay. This time I brought back 1 bag of oranges and 1 of grapefruit and then a mixture of 1 and had no problems.
