I have a reservation for this Sept.

So tell me what your think of this resort?

We loved it. We were there in December a couple years ago. We requested to stay in the East Village which is new and the balconies face the golf course. I have heard they are building a water park in the East Village. We had a 2 bedroom which was very large. It had a lot of seating in the livingroom and a nice large screened balcony. The bathroom was huge and had a separate shower and whirlpool tub. They have so many activities and pools, you wouldn't have to leave the resort. They have miniature golf with a family price for the entire week. They have numerous games, tennis, golf, boats, a lake, a movie theater, a couple restaurants, lots of planned group activities, live music and much much more. If you stay in the East Village and have a car, you can arrive and leave through the back entrance so you don't have to drive through the entire complex. Debby

My neighborhood is on the other side of the lake that Orange Lake is on. I have never been there, but it looks really nice from across the lake. They have boats and a nice beach.

We stayed there in Nov '03, it was great, the only issue was the resort itself is huge, you'll need a car...but, the pools were excellent for kids of all ages and the condo's were the perfect size for relaxing.

I'm sure you'll like it!

i own at orage lake, i love it, there is lots to do and yes you will need a car to get around the resort

My boss and her BF should be arriving there about now. I'll let you know her impression when she returns on the 4th.

thanks for the information.

Owners of OL - do they have free wheelchairs - or should I look into renting one for my mother?

It's ok but it's not Disney :earsboy: ...that's for sure.....

The pool in the north village was ok....but the pools around the main clubhouse were definately not designed with children in mind...

They are too deep (over 4' in one, 6' the whole pool in the other) :confused3

And there are NO lifeguards at any of the pools....at least at Disney I can trust that there are lifeguards around if something happens.

Nice place to rent/visit but decided not to own there....

Typical response from those who love on site only..... We loved it in April 2002. I golf and could sneak out for a quick round while others at the pool. We really should have used the activities more. I love Orlando area, but am getting bored of the parks and if I go again (just got back on the weekend), want someplace I can relax at with activities and a huge 2BR.

I think they are also building a mini water park right now.

The North Pool was very good (with a slide and zero entry pool).

We also own and also love it at OLCC! We never go to the pools by the clubhouse. We always go to the Splash Lagoon area or The smaller pool at the North Side. I can't wait until the lazy river is finished? How close are they till its done? Has it been started yet??

I just wanted to say how much i agree with your post, they are right it is not diensy that is why it is called orange lake! I love the way people compare cuz i don't think onsite is anything special,

anyway to the op, i love orange lake, i own there the pools are great, i would suggest you call to ask your question on the chairs cuz i am not for certain but you will enjoy yourself, have fun

I am starting to think how few places there are like Orlando, with great resorts and no need to go to the parks more then 1-2 days at tops....

The first time we ever traded into the Orlando area we got OLCC. We had no idea what to expect (this was before I was Disney obsessed - lol) and we absolutely fell in love with the place. We were in the North Village and my DD loved Splash Lagoon. She was 3 on that trip and still talks about it fondly. We've traded into many other places since and still find OLCC to be one of our very favorites. Silver Lake is up there too, because of location. We didn't use anything but the pool and our villa was incredible too. We had a 2 bedroom and it was huge. You will love it - enjoy!!

We're going in August for the first time. We have a 2 bdrm and are going with a 5 1/2 yr old, 3 1/2 yr old & 10 month old. I'm excited to have the space, but have to admit, we've only stayed on property in the past.

How far is it to MK?

B/c we're going in Aug., I know we'll have to come back for naps and heat relief. Is it realistic that we'll make it back to the parks?

yes - take the short cut.

there is a grocery store on OL property - Publix - it has a light -

at the next light pass this one (Black Lake) - turn left - then when this road ends (stop sign) turn left again - Sherberth Road - when this road ends (traffic Light) - turn right - you are now on WDW property - follow the signs on this road to get to the parks.

coming back - look for AKL (not AK) to get on the right road.

Thanks!! I wrote down directions - I think they'll help a lot.

It sounds like it's pretty close?!?

around 4 miles this way - the other way during US 192 - probably around 6 miles. this road US 192 - from US 27 to WDW is only like 7 miles total - so it feels much, much longer than it is...

I have stayed at many of the timeshare resorts in orlando and I give Orange Lake only a fair rating. We stayed for a week a few years back. First off, it wasn't very clean. Our unit was older and there was still leftovers in the unit from the previous guests when we checked in. When we did get to our unit there were 10 large bags of laundry sitting at the bottom of the building. they stayed there almost all of the next day before someone picked them up. the food we had at one of the resort resturants was some of the worst i've ever had. The resort was way too large. You had to get in the car to drive to any of the activities or pools. And finally, the location on 192 was way out of the way. It wasn't all bad. The pools were nice and we were able to play tennis everyday but we aren't going back. Hopefully you'll have a better time. Now that we've done the marriott's nothing can compare, for us at least.
