We'll be staying at Orange Lake (West Village) 6/8-6/15. We are not visiting Disney this year and want to spend our time at Universal, IOA & SeaWorld.

I know that this resort is not that close to those attractions but we are using an RCI exchange week and it was the only resort that we felt would be a good match for our family.

That being said just how far are we and does anyone know of the best routes to get to those attractions quicker and without the normal traffic?

Any reviews of Orange Lake (WEST) are also appreciated. Just a side note...we don't care if the TV's are tube TV's instead of flat screens -:rotfl2:- we aren't planning on watching TV while we are there. ...and Bugs - yup- it's Florida there are gonna be bugs (some really BIG BUGS) and lizards...also not a problem.

Thanks in advance.

We have owned at Orange Lake for 20 years, and we couldn't be more pleased with our decision to buy. Resort amenities are great and we have never had any issues of any kind. As for the trip to Universal, We did Route 192 to Route 4, then over to the park. Have fun!

Thanks for your response...about how long does it take to get to Universal or Seaworld (timewise)?

Of course, time of day/traffic would factor in, but ...Sea World is only about 15 minutes away. It is about 20 minutes to Universal.

I'd allow at least 30+ minutes. They're working on the I-4 and traffic was a disaster during rush hour.

To the original poster. I would love to hear what you have to say when you return. We just booked through an RCI exchange as well for Christmas week. We also booked West Village. We r also limiting our parks for that week because we go back 10 weeks after we return for March Break. I dont care about Tvs or anything like that. I want a clean room with a great resort amenities. Hopefully not being nickled and dimed to death eithier. Thanks.

I liked staying in the West Village last year as opposed to the other villages. We were in the buildings that we parked and walked right into our room. No worrying about lugging stuff up the elevators or stairs. They just went and remodeled the rooms in that village as well.

^This! We also own a timeshare at Orange Lake for about 8 years now. We love it. There are 3 pools, lazy river, mini golf, restaurants, boat rentals available. And much more.
