Orange Lake Resort Studio

We are going to be visiting Disney in Oct 2010 and we just used RCI to book a stay at the Orange Lake Resort West Village. The only room they had available for the dates we are going was a studio? Has anyone stayed in a studio at Orange Lake? How is the Orange Lake resort? It looks really nice on the website but is it really nice?

We've stayed at OLCC a few times but never in a studio unit. I think that the West Village studios are all located in the high rise tennis villas building that's next to the clubhouse and West Village recreation center - not a bad location at all. OLCC is a nice resort with the villages spread out over a very large piece of property.

We stayed there in 2005, although not in a studio. The resort is fantastic, if I wasn't staying on property that would be my second choice.

Hard to believe all they had was a studio. Were you renting or exchanging? If exchanging, I'd hold out for something bigger.

I thought West Vlg was all individual houses.

We often go in October. The Columbus Day week has less availability, but I've always been offered many nice 2br units at various resorts. You can surely do better than a studio.

We are exchanging thru RCI. We actually decided that the studio really wasn't a good idea cause I really like to have a washer/dryer since we have a little one it's nice to have so I don't have to overpack. So we switched over to a 1 bedroom at the Summer Bay Resort. If anyone has any thoughts/reviews that would be great.

Good choice. We like Summer Bay much better than Orange Lake.
