i can get a 2bedroom villa for $103 a night - i will only need 2 nights here before heading over to CBR.

my question is will we be bothered by salesmen trying to sell us timeshare property while we are here

also does anyone know how long it takes to get to Universal from here

thanks so much

A good friend of mine stays at Orange Lake every year and loves it. She did tell me; however, that they are pretty aggressive with the sales pitches. She seems to think the place is so nice that it's worth the trade off to put up with it.

Yes, you will be bothered. Be firm. Be mean if you have to. They will call your room several times. When you check in you can't get your required parking pass until you deal with them.

Also, we stayed one time there, I would never go back. Maybe it depends on where you stay? We had something that was like 2 adjoining hotel rooms (2 beds, then a door, then another room with 2 beds. The fridges were all leaking and there was mold inside the cabinet they are in, the bathroom faucet was broken in the one tub, sheets and linens needed replaceing (along with matresses and carpet). That is aside from being assigned the wrong room (a room with 2 beds and a couch when they knew we had 8 people!), door keys that stopped working (at 2 am our kids passed out in the hallway while dh had to go find someone to let us back in).

It could easily take 45 minutes to get to Universal with the traffic.

Easily. Remember you are on the border of another County at OLCC. The only park anywhere nearby is Animal Kingdom (and the infamous Disney Sewage Treatment plant that for some reason few choose to visit!).

If you are renting without any type of tour required or trading in then you are under no obligation to "tour". Just tell them NO in no uncertain terms. If your rate is through a deal that ties it to a "90 minute (or whatever length they may state) tour" then you do have to attend or they can refuse to honor the rate. In that case I would question the value as $103 per night for a 2 bedroom isn't that good to make the torture of the tour worthwhile. If it is tied to a tour, and that is the only incentive, I would keep shopping for a better deal.

That's a great deal for Orange Lake 2bdrm. It's great resort. It was so good that you will have so much to do you don't have to go to the parks. Where did you get the deal for $103 from if you don't mine me asking. The lowest I could find is $113.

I have stayed here twice before and never had an issue with Time Share harassment. Both stays we had a 2 bedroom condo, it was very nice, and the rate was great like $100.00 per night.

As far as access to Universal, it will be a bit of a hike for sure. I would count on 30 min+ at best.
