Orange Lake Information...who has stayed there?

Pool and slides? Their hours?
How far to WDW and how far to Universal area?

hi, i own at orange lake and i can tell you it is very expensive for non owners, heck for owners too, i needed a couple of days before my week kicked in and was told 187 per night, i told her i was an owner-ha ha, she told me that was the owner rate non owner rate is over 200-holy cow the drive to universal less then 30 minutes maybe less then that i mean we drove everywhere there should not be any extra cost for the exercise everyting should be included in your price, if you pm me i can give you the number of orange lake customer service and you can ask them all the questions.

We've traded into OLCC and absolutely loved it. The pools were all great, with our favorite being the new Splash Lagoon, it was very tropical and had a small slide. The pools were open to at least 10pm, maybe even 11pm. As for laundry services, we used our own washer/dryer that was in the unit (it was a stackable I believe) - we did use the exercise facility (enough of that walking through the parks - lol). It was a very easy drive to WDW, we turned left onto the back Sherbeth Rd. entrance off 192 and it was super quick. Hope this helps some. Have fun.

You might wish to provide some additional information. Are you exchanging in or are you looking to rent? I own at Orange Lake but I don't use all the facilities. I have never used the excercise facilities but it looks the standard stuff and there is no cost. Pools pretty much close at 10:00. Sometime this summer or early fall a new 12 acre River Island pool complex should open. There is a nice Olympic size pool near the main building (West Village). Kids love Splash Lagoon (North Village). There are other pools scattered throughout the resort at East Village, the Tennis Villas, etc.

Orange Lake borders the Animal Kingdom, so it is very close to WDW. As others note, you can take Sherbert Road but even going on 192 to the first WDW entrance is less than 4 miles. I'm not quite sure what average prices you are looking for; rent of studio's, one bedroom's, two bedroom's, three bedrooms, eating facilities, golf course, golf shops, swim shop, tennis shop , miniture golf, kayaks, boats, etc. If room rates, I would suggest looking on www.orangelake.com and get some telephone numbers to call and get rate information.

The one bedrooms and up have washer and dryers in the room. The studios have laundry facilities in the building. No charges. If you are looking for dry clearners, I'm not sure what the cost. The easiest thing to do is check the web site, make a list of things that your are interested, and then call Orange Lake. I think you will like it there.

We stayed there in Nov '03 - via Sky Auction, got (2) 2 bedroom condos for $451 for the week!

Kids loved it, Splash Lagoon was a hit, pool included pool volleyball, pool basketball, small slide that was great for elementary school kids.

Laundry in rooms - full size in ours.

We'd go back in a second...

Especially if hot with the pools. I golf and also thought it was great running out and playing quick rounds late in the day.

Activities are very good, particularly if you aren't Park hawks (i.e. there opening to close).

Get newer units and there will be no complaints......

OLCC is wonderful. We traded into it a couple years ago. We thought the East Village was the nicest, (it is also the newest). The unit was very clean. They have lots of activities. It is a quick drive to WDW. We didn't use the exercise equipment because of all the walking we did in the parks. The pools were nice and were warm, (we were there in Dec.). We used their tennis equipment and played tennis. They have a miniature golf course that has a flat fee for the family for the week. They have a movie theater. We played ping pong and shuffleboard. We attended their sales presentation which was low key, paid us $40 for listening and served us breakfast/lunch. Originally they gave us a unit between the club house and the North Village which was not very nice. We went back and asked for a unit in the East Village and our request was granted. The unit we exchanged for was a 2 bdrm and had a separate shower and nice jacuzzi tub. Going to WDW was easy thanks to the exit near the East Village and there is a grocery store close by the East Village entrance. They have a few restaurants on-site and some kind of barbeque or dinner near the North Village pool area. They have a really nice pool area near the North Village for kids as well as a huge pool near the club house. We hung out at the East Village pool which was not as crowded and very nice but small. The East Village overlooks the golf course and I have heard you can see the fireworks from some of the units. We were never there at firework time to know for sure. Oue unit had a washer/dryer combination. I highly recommend OLCC. Debby

I may be off on some dates but there are several areas to Orangle Lake. The original resort is in a location call West Village. It is where the checkin is located. It opened I think in 1982. They added additional units and refer to these as the Tennis villas. I don't have date for these but I think they were mid-1990s. The North Village opened in the 1999/2000 timeframe. East Village opened in the 2002 timeframe (they are still building here). Many of the units in the West Village are single-story. Many of the units in the North Village consist of 5 units (3 on the ground level, 2 above). The East Village are all 7-story units of 8 units per level.

At some point in the future, Orange Lake will probably build some more 7-story units around River Island as it is in the East Village but not real close to the existing units. To give an indication of the size of Orange Lake, my unit (East Village) is roughly 2 miles from the main entrance. One complaint about Orange Lake is that it is too big but I tend to think of it as an advantage as it doesn't crowd everybody into a small location.

My unit on the 6th floor you can see the fireworks but when I stayed on the 5th floor, I couldn't because the fireworks from Disney was blocked by another building. The 6th floor unit I was able to see above the building. The ability to see the fireworks is going to depend on the location of the building in the East Village as well as the building orientation (they circle around the golf course so some building are angled 90 degrees different than other buildings. I wouldn't count on seeing fireworks as there are too many unknowns. When I first purchased my unit, there was no obstructions to viewing the fireworks but as I noted, the newer buildings do block the view especially for the lower floors. Still, the best way to see the fireworks is at the parks. Oh, my unit at Orange Lake is right next to the pool but is probaby 3/4 mile from the new River Island.

Hi. I have been invited to join a friend and her mom at thier OLCC timeshare.. i was wondering if there is a good amount of 21+ nitelife..clubs/bars in or around the area? I looked on the OL website and i didn't see anything listed.
