This is one reason why I think it is a ripoff for the seemingly *mandatory* full closings including title insurance expense that timeshare resellers tack onto sales of WDW DVCs through them. If you have the name of the sellers, you can search title records yourself online, and they are fairly updated. Other counties in the U.S. have this option as well. You can find if mortgates are outstanding or if satisfaction papers have been recorded.

Just searching these records actually does not protect you. I saw a whole thing on Title Insurance once and it was actually interesting. Don't really know why you need it for DVC, but for your house BUY IT. (It was amazing the claims that appeared 50 years after Grandma's death LOL!)
